Firebrand Republican in hot water as cryptic House committee statement reveals new probe

MAGA firebrand Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) is under investigation, according to the House Ethics Committee, but the circumstances of why weren't immediately known.
In a cryptic statement Friday obtained by Bryan Metzger of Business Insider, the committee chair said the ethics panel had extended the matter about Mace. The matter was transmitted to the Committee of the Office of Congressional Conduct on Dec. 2.
A decision on a possible "course of action" was due by March 2.
While Mace has not faced criminal charges in the last year, she has become entangled in several high‑profile disputes and at least one civil defamation suit tied to her own public accusations. She has also publicly clashed with GOP leadership, even reportedly considering resigning early.
