FIFA releases statement after Donald Trump bans 15 World Cup nations from US

Source: Joe (UK)

Following Donald Trump’s decision to impose travel bans on 15 World Cup nations, FIFA has now issued a statement. The US are joint hosts of the next FIFA World Cup, alongside Canada and Mexico, and the travel ban comes into place just a few months before the tournament’s start. FIFA has now warned the fans and people interested that a match ticket doesn’t guarantee you entry to the country. “A match ticket does not guarantee admission to a host country, and fans should visit each country’s government website today for entry requirements for Canada, Mexico and the United States”, FIFA’s press release states.

Trump announced his administration’s decision to “indefinitely” pause applications for citizens of 75 countries, impacting an estimated two billion people around the globe, in a reported attempt to further curb the level of immigration into the United States. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem previously explained the reasoning for the bans in a strong-worded post on X (formerly Twitter). “I just met with the President. I am recommending a full travel ban on every damn country that’s been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies”, she wrote.

I wonder if FIFA Pres. Gianni Infantino will rescind the FIFA Peace Prize now. Yeah, probably not. FIFA still gonna make lots from it. If I were he, however, I'd demand payment in Swiss francs or gold.

I wouldn't expect them to have the integrity to cancel the US games.

Between the bribery and sex scandals, slave labor used in stadium construction for their events and their constant amelioration of authoritarian regimes; that playground for the elite should have been given a REALLY BIG enema a long time ago or abolished entirely.

I love (real) football, but I'm no fan of jingoistic international competitions like the World Cup or the Olympics. They only serve the elite, and always tend to make life worse for folks on the ground wherever they go.

It had long been suspected that FIFA - and its myriad national football associations - sold broadcast rights on the basis of bribes.

And in 2015, Lynch finally got the proof she needed to proceed with indictments.

(among others, a lot of Trump's old pal Macri's friends were indicted - including the brother of his Security Secretary)

But then, Snoozalini wins in 2016 - and the charges miraculously disappear.

So before you know it, the U.S. is given hosting rights for the '26 cup...and a beautiful friendship was born...

have told me that FIFA is the world's second most corrupt organization, with Republicans #ONE..........

Maybe ALL of soccer's foreign teams, players, and fans should refuse to attend ANY event held in the USA??????????????
And including any soccer fans/spectators buying tickets to ANY World soccer game here in the U.S.

Everyone could call it a "Anti-Trump/Republican Soccer Tariff"................

One man, too tiny for the big office he inhabits , keeps a world on a yo yo.

I would laugh but the murder and maimings are real.
