One Hundred Democrats Have Now Signed To Co-Sponsor Articles Of Impeachment Against Kristi Noem
The articles accuse Noem of three counts: Obstruction of Congress, Violation of public trust and Self-dealing

One hundred House Democrats have now signed to co-sponsor articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the lawmaker who introduced the bill said.

Rep. Robin Kelly said in a press release that the amount of lawmakers who signed on doubled compared to last week. She said the support is a result of people seeing "ICE's Gestapo-like tactics firsthand."

"As Secretary Noem continues to lie, obstruct Congress, and violate people's civil rights, the support for her impeachment only grows. I urge my colleagues on the other side of the aisle to be on the right side of the law and our Constitution," she added. The number of co-sponsor amounts to almost half of all the Democratic caucus, which has 2013 members. Kelly expects the number to grow further.

The initiative has has garnered far more support than other such attempts as criticism of Noem surged after the shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis.

Even with the thin majority republicans have, I don’t think democrats will be able to get 5+ republicans on board to impeach anyone in this administration.

If democrats win in the fall, I think she should be the first to target, but she’s ultimately a grifter and there’s only so much she can steal. My guess is she’d be out by then.

Not while Republicans control the House Judiciary Committee.

Jim Jordan is the committee chair, and he won't allow articles of impeachment to even be considered by the committee.

While, in theory, an officer can be impeached by vote of the full House after articles are introduced as a privileged motion, thus bypassing the committee, such an attempt has only worked once in 250 years. (William Belknap, Secretary of War in 1876...he was acquitted in the Senate)

There are 212 Dem Representatives and 45 Senators as of today.
The report acknowledges less than half of them. What's the spin on that?
That's a lot of potential primaries on our side too.

Wonder Why
