Trump withdraws Canada's invite to his 'Board of Peace'
Source: NBC News
President Donald Trump has withdrawn his invitation for his Canadian counterpart, Mark Carney, to join his "Board of Peace," in an escalating feud between the two leaders.
"Dear Prime Minister Carney," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform late Thursday. "Please let this Letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canadas joining, what will be, the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever assembled, at any time."
The Canadian prime minister's office did not immediately respond to an overnight request for comment from NBC News.
No reason was given for the move by Trump, who has angered Canadians with repeated suggestions that he wants to annex their country. That animus flared again this week, after Trump bristled at Carney's description of a "rupture" of the postwar international order in the wake of Trump's territorial ambitions.

(1,336 posts)He's really jealous of the standing ovation Carney got at Davos and also of the increased respect for Carney, who is emerging as the leader who is willing to stand up (and speak out against) to the Orange maggot, even though he doesn't mention him by name.
"Carneys quiet, measured and evocative case-making demonstrated his ability to be the leader Frances Emmanuel Macron would like to be and the UKs Keir Starmer is too cautious to be. He was clear, unequivocal and unafraid of the bully below his southern border. In standing up to the US president, Donald Trump, he appeared every inch the statesperson."

(2,375 posts)or at least the happiest man in North America today is Carney. Canada had never accepted the invitation in the first place and Carney was calculating how to stay away from that shitshow with the least drama.
He wakes up this morning and problem solved.
