Noem Says 'Everything I've Done' Has Been Directed by Trump and Stephen Miller: Report
Source: MEDIAite

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is chalking up her actions in office to the direction of President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller.
Noem, Miller, and others in the administration have faced backlash over their description of the circumstances surrounding federal agents shooting and killing 37-year-old Alex Pretti in Minneapolis on Saturday. Noem and others claimed Pretti wanted to massacre agents before the confrontation. Administration officials have pointed to the fact that Pretti was armed as proof of his malicious intentions, but Second Amendment activists have consistently pushed back against this.
Prettis death followed an ICE agent shooting and killing 37-year-old mother Renee Good in the same city earlier this month. The city is currently suing the administration over ICEs deployment.
Miller previously referred to Pretti as an assassin. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called Miller one of the presidents closest allies amid rumors of a rift between Noem and Miller.

(12,734 posts)Anyone limiting the demand to Noem is neglecting the architect of the insanity, as the American Federation of Government Employees so clearly point out in their press release yesterday
https://www.afge.org/publication/afge-demands-resignation-or-termination-of-dhs-secretary-kristi-noem-and-deputy-white-house-chief-of-staff-stephen-miller-for-smearing-slain-afge-member-alex-pretti-as-domestic-terrorist/
Yesterday, AFGE brought together labor and faith leaders from Minneapolis and across the nation to mourn our fallen brother from Local 3669, Alex Pretti. We honored his life and legacy and lifted up his family, his friends, his union, Minneapolis, and our nation in prayer.
Today, we demand accountability.
In the immediate aftermath of Alexs killing, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem betrayed the public trust by slandering the good name of our union brother and calling him a domestic terrorist. Alex Pretti was a patriotic ICU nurse at a VA hospital who devoted his life to serving Americas veterans. That claim was reckless, defamatory, and unsupported by the facts. Noem was preceded in this false statement by Stephen Miller, Deputy White House Chief of Staff, who is also the architect of the chaotic and failed immigration policy in Minnesota.
Our demand is clear: Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who was responsible for carrying out the policy that led to Alexs needless killing, and Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, the architect of that policy, must resign immediately. If they refuse, President Trump must dismiss them.
Public reporting has established that Mr. Miller is the driving force behind the administrations harsh immigration agenda. He personally directed its implementation and used high-pressure tactics to force compliance across the federal government. These were not abstract policy choices. They were imposed from the top and enforced without regard for the consequences.
Secretary Noem willingly carried out this agenda. Secretary Noem made deliberate choices that reshaped the Department of Homeland Security and enabled this tragedy. Over the past year, she removed senior leaders, consolidated authority, and enforced aggressive immigration tactics that prioritized political objectives over professional judgment and public/officer safety. Those choices created the conditions that led directly to this tragedy.
This conduct is consistent with Secretary Noems broader record at DHS. Under her leadership, TSA workers have faced sustained attacks on collective bargaining rights and union representation. At FEMA her actions have weakened frontline workers, undermined labor protections, and eroded accountability within the agency that is so critical to disaster preparedness and response. Over the past year, she removed senior leaders within the Department of Homeland Security and reshaped the agencys command structure to ensure adherence to Mr. Millers aggressive immigration strategies. Those decisions escalated tensions, undermined professional judgment, and put lives at risk.
Taken together, the actions of Miller and Noem, both before and after Alexs killing, make clear they are unfit to serve in their current positions, or any position requiring the public trust.
AFGE calls for a full and transparent investigation into Alexs killing led by an independent third party. We also call for bipartisan congressional oversight to uncover the truth, ensure accountability, and begin repairing the damage to public trust.

(623 posts)We should be seeing - or posting - headlines like -
Federal official slain by masked gunmen during immigration protest.
Shaping the narrative like that would almost demand a thorough investigation. Of course, the federal investigators that might give the case the diligence it deserves will never be assigned or allowed to investigate by the layer of Regime sycophants that are running the federal law enforcement agencies these days.

Is a little "abstracted", shall we say? If she said it publicly, it would be "news", but this factoid, without any surrounding context, doesn't really amount to much given it's just that she privately admitted what everyone already knows, which is that she's a simpering toady figurehead at her job

(220 posts)There once was a boss lady Noem,
Who said Blame the guy in the dome.
Not my damn call,
Trump wrote it all,
While washing her hands down to bone.
Stephen Miller, smug as can be,
Cried ASSASSIN! on prime-time TV.
With no proof to cite,
Just vibes and a fright,
And a megaphone set to frenzy.
Alex Pretti lay dead on the street,
Shot down by the badge-bearing elite.
He might have gone wild,
Cried the state, running mild,
While facts got stomped under their feet.
He was armed! they yelled, nice and loud,
Like that makes the killing allowed.
Second Amend folks
Said That logics a joke,
But nuance was banned by the crowd.
Before that, poor Renee Good,
A mom doing what mothers should,
Met ICE and a gun,
Now her lifes fucking done,
And the city says This aint good.
Minneapolis sued, fed up, pissed,
At troops where consent didnt exist.
The feds said Too bad,
The locals said Mad,
And trust went straight down the abyss.
Rumors flew: Noem hates Miller!
The press room smelled bullshit and filler.
Leavitt smiled thin,
Said Hes tight with the king,
And stomped out the gossipno thriller.
So heres the grand tale they all spin:
Shoot first, then rewrite it to win.
Call corpses threats,
Dodge blame, place bets,
And dare anyone call it a sin.

(54,729 posts)There was type face telling what the outcome was after the trials.
It has stuck in my mind since there was NO JUSTICE for their actions. The Nazi criminals were sent to jail for life but none of them were in jail after only 20 years. The Communist threat caused fear and the US officials focused on the Communists running the world and felt they needed the support of the German citizens to fight Communism and they chose to abandon the justice of the Nazis who were proven guilty.
"While the Nuremberg trials (1945-1949) did convict hundreds of Nazi officials, it is historically accurate that many convicted criminals did not serve their full sentences and were released early in the 1950s, largely driven by Cold War politics and a desire to align with West Germany against the Soviet Union.
Here is a breakdown of the facts surrounding the punishment of Nazis after World War II:
1. The Initial Sentences
Main Trial (19451946): Of the 22 major defendants, 12 were sentenced to death, three to life imprisonment, four to long prison terms, and three were acquitted.
Subsequent Trials (19461949): The US held 12 additional trials for doctors, judges, and SS officials. Out of 177 defendants, 24 were sentenced to death and 20 to life.
Executions: Only 13 of the 24 death sentences from the later trials were actually executed, while others had their sentences commuted.
2. Early Releases in the 1950s By the mid-1950s, nearly all Nazis convicted in the "subsequent" trials who were not executed had been released.".

(490 posts)But we can't forget that two Ice agents were in on the execution of Alex Pretti. They toothier orders from someone. It's clear that the other agents are fleeing g to not be involved with the 9 or 10 bullets that were being fired into a clearly not threatening body. It's an execution. The two agents, as well as the people that gave them the go ahead to murder in cold blood against all established principles of policing a dead body that posed no threat to anyone let alone an agent, must one brought to justice. The DOJ must not be allowed to let this not be tried, even if Patel was ordered to prevent it from. being a cicil rights case. Who ordered Patel to hav e evidence destroyed. We can not relent.
