During a student-led anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement protest outside Fremont High School Thursday afternoon, a student was struck by a vehicle.
The Tribune observed the vehicle, a red SUV with a Trump flag flying from the backseat window, driving back and forth multiple times prior to striking the student, revving its engine and speeding along North Lincoln Avenue in front of the school.
Just prior to the incident, the vehicle had stopped near the curb in front of a group of students and the driver had gotten out. When the driver returned to the vehicle, he started to pull out into the street and hit a student with the front passenger-side of the vehicle, as witnessed by The Tribune.
The vehicle stopped briefly and Scott Jensen, the executive director of secondary operations for Fremont Public Schools, stood in front of it in an attempt to stop the driver from leaving, but the driver managed his way around Jensen and down the street.
