The Fremont Police Department has cited five juveniles and an adult in connection to last weeks car-into-protester crash in which a juvenile driver hit a Fremont High School student with a car during a protest against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity.
Police cited the juvenile male driver, who was displaying a flag supporting President Donald Trump on the rear of a red SUV, for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Videos showed the driver hit a girl, who appeared to be carrying a protest sign, before slowing down and then driving away during the protest outside of the high school on Jan. 29.
The girl, who was injured in the collision and taken to a hospital, was cited for being a pedestrian on a highway/roadway, according to a press release.
One woman was cited for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, while another juvenile was cited for criminal mischief and theft. Two other juveniles were cited for obstructing police officers and disorderly conduct.
