Metro Atlanta USPS worker shot, killed delivering mail

Source: WSB TV

A community is mourning a U.S. Postal Service worker who family and friends say was shot and killed while delivering mail.

Loved ones say it happened Thursday near Oxford Drive in DeKalb County. The victim is 31-year-old Dequavious Graves.

Moments later a USPS mail truck is seen slowly veering off Oxford Drive, eventually stopping in Elizabeth Nace’s yard. Video shows her walking out her front door and trying to flag down a neighbor.

“I need help with mailman. Something is wrong with the mailman, something is wrong,” she is heard saying.

This has become such an ingrained part of our culture that it's not shocking to anybody now that we have 47,000 gun deaths each and every year.

My son was a carrier for the USPS. One day, a crazy person came out of their house with a machete and started running toward my son swinging the machete. My son drove off and told his boss he would not be delivering on that route anymore. Trump took away the Postal Police that protected our USPS employees. We need them back. Carriers are being held up by gun holding goons.

briefly delivered mail back in the mid 1980’s. Around the time that social security checks and food stamps should be delivered, he would get threatened by some people if those checks weren’t delivered on time. It was just crazy! He only delivered mail for about six months, I believe. Then he went into maintenance and when he retired was an electronic technician at the post office.
