Goldman Lawyer, Epstein Conferred on Secret Service Prostitution Scandal

Source: Bloomberg

Kathryn Ruemmler, who resigned last week as the top lawyer at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., corresponded with Jeffrey Epstein about a prostitution scandal that engulfed the US Secret Service during her tenure as White House counsel under former President Barack Obama.

In a dozen or so exchanges that were sent months after Ruemmler left her White House position in 2014, she complained to Epstein about “this secret service crap” and forwarded to him a draft email that contained detailed, nonpublic information about the behind-the-scenes role the White House Counsel’s office played in investigating the 2012 prostitution scandal.

Although Ruemmler had left the White House, she remained embroiled in the matter as lawmakers and journalists probed her work investigating the scandal. At the time she was under consideration for US attorney general.

Epstein offered advice, as well as what he described as “edits” to the email draft, which Ruemmler indicated she was planning to send to a journalist. “Breathe, smile. You’re free,” he wrote in one message.

Relationship with Jeffrey Epstein
After departing her White House counsel position, and while she was once again employed as a partner at Latham and Watkins, Ruemmler was a close associate of, and met with, Jeffrey Epstein on dozens of occasions between July 2014 and May 2019, according to his schedule, well after he had been convicted of procuring a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute. These included "lunches and dinners with celebrities, apartment hunting, and personal beauty appointments", CNN reported. She was on his schedule for a flight to Paris in 2015, as well as a stop at his home in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2017, but she denied that these trips happened, and The Wall Street Journal could not confirm whether they did.[32][33] She said in 2023: "I regret ever knowing Jeffrey Epstein."[32][34]

Ruemmler was listed as a backup executor in a January 2019 version of Jeffrey Epstein’s will, a disclosure from Congress showed on September 8, 2025.[35] She maintained an email correspondence with Epstein from 2014 to 2018, at times soliciting his advice regarding a prospective job offer or sharing chummy musings about ordinary Americans, as emails released by the House Oversight Committee in November 2025 revealed.[36][37]

Ruemmler called Epstein "wonderful Jeffrey," "sweetie," and "Uncle Jeffrey," and wrote "I adore him" in a December 2015 email exchange which appears to show Epstein booking and paying for her first-class trip to Europe.[38][39] In other back-and-forth messages with Epstein, Ruemmler expressed gratitude for her "friendship" with Epstein as well as concluded her messages with "xo" and "xoxo."[40] Other emails show her asking Epstein to help her land a job with Facebook and giving him advice as to how to respond to the coverage that his crimes were receiving in media. She also conveyed to Epstein that she was romantically involved with a married associate of his.[41] Ruemmler announced her resignation from Goldman Sachs on February 12, 2026, effective at the end of June 2026, after her Epstein connections were publicly disclosed.[4][42][43]

... because it seems like most of the billionaire class and their serfs are even more stupid and gullible than that.

And I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that it's not just pure evil.

Something something about how while traveling she unavoidably had to be near the grubby masses, and about how disconcerting it all was? I believe Democracy Now did a segment on this, with Anand Giridharadas.

Epstein had a knack for attracting the most soulless in society.
