“ICE agents aren't Disney villains,” he said in a post on X. “They're our neighbors, friends, and loved ones. These immigration and customs enforcement officers are red-blooded American patriots doing a tough job to keep our nation safe. Assaults against ICE are up 1,300%. I stand with DHS.”

“The fact is that Renee Good was interfering with police activity," the senator later told CNN's Jake Tapper. "There’s no question about that right now. Once she blocked the ICE agents from doing their job, they exited the vehicle. Gave her verbal command, she wasn’t listening, and then she purposely tries to accelerate and run over.”

The senator then added: “I don’t know if she purposely tried to run over the ICE agent, but there was an ICE agent position in front of her vehicle. She accelerated to them. At that point, that vehicle becomes a lethal weapon.”

Mullin has called for increasingly strict sanctions for immigrants living in the U.S. without legal permission.In June 2025, Mullin stated that U.S.-born citizen children who were born to parents of immigrants should be deported alongside their parents. "Well, they should go where their parents are," Mullin said. "Why wouldn't you send a child with their parents? I mean, why would you want to separate them?"

Around that same time, Mullin also backed Trump's decision to send National Guard members to Los Angeles to address the "lawlessness" of demonstrators protesting the arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants.
