DHS Secretary Kristi Noem out, Trump says
Source: Axios
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is leaving the department and being replaced by Sen. Markwayne Mullin, President Trump said Thursday.
Why it matters: Noem's exit leaves Trump's mass deportation agenda without its most prominent face amid a public backlash.
Catch up quick: Noem drew bipartisan fury after accusing Minneapolis nurse Alex Pretti and mother Renee Nicole Good of being domestic terrorists after both were shot and killed by federal agents in January.

There is a weird combination of hyper christianity and lack of education here. Divorce or adultery is ok as long as you go to church every Sunday and profess your love for SkyDaddy. I read a great book years ago about how during the Great Depression Oklahoma was the 6th poorest state in the nation. In the mid 1990s Oklahoma was still the 6th poorest state. If I recall correctly the book was Dancing With the Ghost of Tom Joad.

Because Mullins Senate seat is already up for consideration in 2026, whomever Stitt appoints would serve until that election concludes.
Whether an appointees prescribed oath declining a 2026 candidacy complies with the U.S. Constitution, however, is another question being studied and debated in Oklahoma political circles.

The thing is: The Republican Senators, Republican House Members, and the Republican Supreme Court justices are so dumb, they don't realize that in a Dictatorship/Tyranny, there are no Judicial or Legislative Branches......LOL

(904 posts)on a free fair election and vote count. To presume this is guaranteed is extremely and dangerously naive. Every Dem should have this as top line of their agenda, because we have the votes but votes can be suppressed and counts can be manipulated.
Fiendish Thingy
(22,854 posts)But in a year where 2024 Trump +20 districts are swinging 15-30+ points towards Dems, voter suppression, gerrymandering and other ham handed efforts will not be sufficient to rig the election in their favor.
This administration is an evil clown car of incompetent goat rodeo rejects, not the cadre of organized, efficient Nazis some imagine them to be.
While many states have enacted voter suppression measures, the SAVE act appears to be stalled in the senate. The undetected manipulation of vote counts is virtually impossible - it did not happen in 2024 (no it didnt), and the attempts in previous elections were detected and the perpetrators dealt with harshly- just ask Tina Peters.
While they may sow chaos and destruction, outside of the executive branch they have very little actual, physical control.
Incidents debunking the myth of Trumps omnipotence continue to pile up daily. Conspiracy theories about physically impossible scenarios - that is what is truly, dangerously naive.

Fiendish Thingy
(22,854 posts)As I have said, outside of the executive branch, he has very little actual, physical control over anything, whether it is vote totals in hundreds of elections across the country, or on the ground in the nations he is destroying.
Desperation means his administration will continue to flail incompetently, ineffectively, and most importantly, obviously for all to see.
Just because Trump imagines something, and speaks it, does not mean it will become reality- when have seen that numerous times.
Just because someone can imagine a dystopian doomsday scenario and type it on the internet does not make that scenario plausible, possible or probable.
Sorry to hear that you continue to accept the myth of Trumps omnipotence.
returnee
(904 posts)No point in further discussion.
Fiendish Thingy
(22,854 posts)And your words stated that the vote count could/would be manipulated, primarily because Trump says so.

(25,574 posts)So far I have scant evidence to believe these assclowns are even halfway competent, and I have to grudgingly set my misgivings aside long enough to regard the possibility of their success at anything as an exceptional circumstance requiring exceptional corroboration. Granted, there certainly would be a lot of moving parts out of sight to the general public, but I can't just suppose they have their shit together without some indication of prior success.
They want to be a real big boy dictatorship so bad it hurts, and even with all their current advantages they're surprisingly ineffective at establishing one.
More likely most involved, especially Wiles, realize they're playing to an audience of one, and that one wants to see better poll numbers. The choice of Mullin is a mountain of mystery, but without strong evidence, I doubt it's a stroke of genius or a flex.

(25,574 posts)There's something very different going on now, a new generation of under-trained ass clowns trying to learn the ropes as the old hands retire. Seems like the legacy Bush-aligned ass clowns dislike the incoming troupe of Trump-aligned ass clowns and aren't making a smooth handoff. Generational turnover has robbed the GOP of some very talented rat-fuckers while leaving them with weak substitutes.
One thing I think we (and really anyone paying attention) can agree on is that they absolutely will try to steal the election. However, I think they're quite likely to bungle the heist in a stupidly embarrassing manner. Regardless, the risk is relatively high, given the stakes, and the chance of the SCOTUS fucking us over is way higher than it should be.

The "Shield of the Americas"- is a U.S.-led security initiative and summit, proposed for March 2026 in Miami, focusing on strengthening regional coordination among select Latin American and Caribbean nations. It addresses organized crime, narcotics trafficking, and regional stability, while counteracting Chinas influence in the Western Hemisphere
It functions as a smaller, invitation-based, "like-minded" alliance designed to advance regional security and, as described by supporters, uphold a "Neo-Monroe Doctrine" to prevent foreign adversaries from establishing footholds in the region.
Kristi Noem is set to act as the Special Envoy for this initiative, according to reports in March 2026.

The prison camps are here to stay, as will be the expansion of these camps that has been going on since Trump was elected. You might see some improvement in conditions in the camps, and perhaps better medical care, but otherwise it'll be the same old same old.
We're still going to see Trump's brown shirts kidnap people off the streets, and engage in violence against US citizens who protest what they're doing.

(178,495 posts)trump did not tell her that she was fired except on social media
It's unclear how now former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem discovered she was fired, and reports Thursday indicate she could have found out about it on Truth Social.
— Raw Story (@rawstory.com) 2026-03-05T20:31:08.555Z
https://www.rawstory.com/kristi-noem-fired
CNN senior White House correspondent Kristen Holmes reported that Noem was speaking at the Sergeant Benevolent Association Major Cities Conference in Nashville just as President Donald Trump had announced via his Truth Social platform that he would replace her with MAGA ally and former MMA fighter Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) and demote her to "Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas." A White House official said she was apparently aware as she was speaking that she had lost her position.
"Now I do not know the order of events in terms of whether or not she learned before or he actually posted this, or during the time that he was posting this, that I'm still trying to get to the bottom of," Holmes said. "But she is aware that he has put this out there now, the other thing to note here is that she's been asked a number of questions, and nobody has asked her about it, so clearly there's probably several people in that audience who don't know that this announcement just happened roughly an hour ago or less."

(12,139 posts)On January 7, the same day 37-year-old Good was fatally shot by a federal agent, Mullin called ICE officers red-blooded Americans and patriots and spoke out against what he said was a rise in assaults against them.
ICE agents aren't Disney villains, he said in a post on X. They're our neighbors, friends, and loved ones. These immigration and customs enforcement officers are red-blooded American patriots doing a tough job to keep our nation safe. Assaults against ICE are up 1,300%. I stand with DHS.
The fact is that Renee Good was interfering with police activity," the senator later told CNN's Jake Tapper. "Theres no question about that right now. Once she blocked the ICE agents from doing their job, they exited the vehicle. Gave her verbal command, she wasnt listening, and then she purposely tries to accelerate and run over.
The senator then added: I dont know if she purposely tried to run over the ICE agent, but there was an ICE agent position in front of her vehicle. She accelerated to them. At that point, that vehicle becomes a lethal weapon.
https://www.newsweek.com/what-markwayne-mullin-has-said-about-ice-immigration-border-security-11633623
Mullin has called for increasingly strict sanctions for immigrants living in the U.S. without legal permission. In June 2025, Mullin stated that U.S.-born citizen children who were born to parents of immigrants should be deported alongside their parents. "Well, they should go where their parents are," Mullin said. "Why wouldn't you send a child with their parents? I mean, why would you want to separate them?"
Around that same time, Mullin also backed Trump's decision to send National Guard members to Los Angeles to address the "lawlessness" of demonstrators protesting the arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants.
