(Reuters) - Three Kurdish women said to include a founding member of the PKK militant group were shot dead overnight in Paris in killings that appeared politically motivated, police and other sources said on Thursday.

The bodies of the women were found early on Thursday at the Information Centre of Kurdistan in the city centre, a police source said.

An employee of the centre, which has close links to Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), told French broadcaster i<Tele that one of the dead was a founding member of the group, which is fighting for greater Kurdish autonomy.

PKK is a nasty group. In addition to Turkish civilians they kill Kurds who won't cooperate with them/pay extortion money, etc.

I doubt this was the Turks though. Probably part of an internal PKK conflict.

8. The PKK is a national liberation movement with an armed wing.

We used to call such groups "guerrillas," now we call them "terrorists" (unless we like them). I found it shocking that a DU member would cheer their murders just because they were members of the organization.

It is also a broader movement. I doubt these women working in a Paris office were part of the armed struggle.

That said, I, too, doubt that the Turks did it. That would be really stupid and piss off the French. And the PKK has had internecine struggles before.

(Reuters) - The execution-style killing in Paris of three Kurdish female activists, including a founder of the PKK militant group, appears to have been the result of an internal feud, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday.

Sakine Cansiz, a founding member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), and two fellow activists were found shot in the head early on Thursday in an attack which overshadowed peace moves between Turkey and the guerrillas.
