Rep. James Comer (R-KY) said President Donald Trumps Department of Justice asked New Mexico investigators to shut down a 2019 probe into a ranch owned by convicted child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein.
Comer joined Fox Newss Jesse Watters on Tuesday evening after New Mexico authorities searched a ranch in the state once owned by Epstein. Victims of Epstein have said they were trafficked at the ranch. This is the second time the property has been investigated.
The property was being probed in 2019, but federal investigators reportedly took over and shut things down. Epstein died of an apparent suicide in 2019 while incarcerated awaiting sex trafficking charges. Comer, who chairs the House Oversight Committee, said on Tuesday:
The federal government asked New Mexico to stop their investigation, I believe, back in 2019 of that ranch. So theres just so many questions about how the government failed, the victims and how government failed in trying to prosecute Epstein sooner. I mean, this whole thing doesnt make sense. Everyone has conspiracy theories on how Epstein was able to get away with it. Was it because he had powerful friends? Was it because he was an agent? We dont know, but were gonna find out and Im glad that theyre on the ground now in New Mexico searching that property.

The "conspiracy theories" were and still are, the core of the GOP QAnon faction. Bondi proclaimed that she had the Epstein client files "sitting on my desk right now".

It is located 30 miles from Santa Fe, 50 miles from Los Alamos National Laboratory, and 20 miles from the Santa Fe Institute, and yet much further than that from anyone paying attention. Epstein launched his human trafficking operation here, sustaining it through connections with powerful figures.
And yet the FBI never conducted a formal investigation of this place not even when they were given a tip about buried bodies on the property.
In fact, the federal government actively prevented the state of New Mexico from investigating claiming it could jeopardize an ongoing federal investigation and compromise potential charges.

(48,935 posts)This article begins in 1993 at Epstein's Zorro Ranch when he first bought the ranch. So far what I have seen is very interesting. Even back then it seemed to be obviously sketchy.

(3,170 posts)I don't see that. He would have hired help for the dirty work and the help can be sloppy when nobody is watching.
I also don't see the workers making a burial map. Easy evidence.
LIDAR may help finding old, seldom used roads used to service the ranch.
Good luck!
