US embassy in Baghdad hit by missile

The U.S. embassy in Iraq’s capital of Baghdad was hit by a missile strike Saturday morning, several media outlets reported.
The attack caused smoke to rise from the embassy’s building, Reuters reported, citing Iraqi security sources. Two security officials told the Associated Press that a missile struck a helipad inside the U.S. embassy compound.
Agence France-Presse reported the damage had been caused by a drone strike, not a missile.
Several videos, circulated by the AP and the BBC, show pillars of smoke rising from inside the facility. There was no immediate comment from the embassy.
