Strike on Sudan hospital kills at least 64 and wounds 89 more, WHO reports

Source: The Guardian

A strike on a healthcare facility in Sudan has killed 64 people and wounded 89 more, the World Health Organization reported on Saturday.

The UN’s humanitarian office in Sudan had earlier said it was “appalled by the attack on a hospital in East Darfur yesterday, reportedly killing dozens, including children, and injuring more”.

Sudanese rights group the Emergency Lawyers, who document atrocities in the war between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, reported it was an army drone strike that hit the El-Daein teaching hospital.

The RSF dominates the vast western Darfur region, while the army is in control of Sudan’s east, centre and north.

Sudan army denies deadly Eid strike on key hospital in Darfur

Sudan's army has denied it carried out a deadly attack on a major hospital on Friday night in a city in the west of the country held by its rivals, the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
...
The RSF said an army drone had hit the hospital in el-Daein, the capital of East Darfur state, on the day Muslims were marking the festival of Eid.
...
The Emergency Lawyers group has called for an independent and transparent investigation and for those responsible to be brought to justice.

The local rights organisation, which has documented atrocities by both the army and the RSF throughout the war, said the hospital in el-Daein was a vital health facility relied upon by thousands of civilians in the city and surrounding villages.

both Iran and the US & Israel are threatening destruction of one another's infrastructures including nuclear power plants in the region, and as you probably know, we're already bombing the nuclear plant in Isfahan, although I think we're claiming that we're somehow doing so without risk of nuclear catastrophe, which seems to me implausible.

And Iran has now sent 2 ICBM missiles, apparently coming very close to hitting an island target 4,000 mis. away, which we claim we've intercepted but without clarifying whether we nonetheless suffered any damage from the flack. The 4,000-mi. range could reach central Europe, among other places.

And Trump's declared a deadline of 48 hrs. for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz or face all-out destruction – that's been ticking down for a while already – and Iran's basically saying f.u. and forget negotiations, since Trump's proved we absolutely cannot be trusted.

And hundreds of Israelis and thousands of Iranians have already been killed, many of them civilians including many children; and of course there have been many more wounded.

If I were the rest of the world, I'd band together to try to stop the US & Israel.

Not sure where "hundreds of Israelis" comes from, unless you're counting from Oct 7th, 2023.

you're correct, wrong thread! I've deleted my post.

(That said, fwiw, your Israeli death toll seems to be a "preliminary" count as of Feb. 27, and a lot has happened since then.)
