Trump accused of running 'misogynistic administration' after Bondi dismissal

Donald Trump has been accused of running a “misogynistic administration” after making Pam Bondi the second woman to be fired from a cabinet already dominated by men. The US president dismissed the attorney general on Thursday amid mounting frustration with her performance, especially over the release of files on the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The move came less than a month after Trump ousted Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, following criticism of her management of the department and immigration enforcement.

Bondi and Noem are the only two cabinet members to lose their jobs so far in Trump’s second term despite male officials such as the defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, and health secretary, Robert Kennedy Jr, stumbling from controversy to controversy. And both have been replaced by men, at least for now: Senator Markwayne Mullin took over at homeland security while Todd Blanche was appointed interim attorney general in what was already the least diverse US cabinet this century.

Democrats cried foul on Thursday. “I see a theme,” Jasmine Crockett, a congresswoman from Texas, posted on social media. “He will throw the incompetent women under the bus a lot faster than the incompetent men.” Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari of Arizona drew a contrast with Hegseth, who was found by a Pentagon watchdog to have put US service members at risk when he used the Signal messaging app, and the FBI director, Kash Patel, whose string of errors include prematurely announcing the arrest of the wrong suspect in the Charlie Kirk murder investigation.

Ansari wrote on X: “Noem and Bondi were both awful and committed egregious, impeachable offenses. But isn’t it … interesting … that it’s just the women getting fired? Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth each have a laundry list of scandals under their belts and should be fired as well. Hmmmm.”

As I mused here - https://www.democraticunderground.com/10143642563

The (expected) purge of women begins.

TALLY (can be added to)

Noem - check
Bondi - getting there
Gabbard - getting there
McMahon - (in a Department that is being dismantled)
Lake - self-destructing
Pirro - definitely on the list
Habba - possible
Leavitt - reasons are starting to accumulate

And meant to include Lori Chavez-DeRemer (Labor Secretary)

True, but Bondi and Noem are women like the Alien movie's Xenomorph is a woman. hadEnuf 5 hrs ago #8

The Misogyny vs the Racism.

It’s tough when from the Administration’s viewpoint you have two equal goals.

It wasn't until then?
First, these were token appointments to women showing abject fealty.
Second, they were never qualified so they were disposable on day 1.
Third, the blueprint for the maladministration was developed by men, so at no point Hage women been real movers & shakers there.
Their very candidacy was a signal of misogyny. It shouldn't have taken Bondi's firing to see it.

I never noticed. Now let me dry my hands with some water.

These women have been doing everything Short Fingers has wanted and even more. What he hates is when people around him get bad attention, particularly if they're women since they are lower in his natural hierarchy. If Hegseth was a woman, there would be rumblings about him too. And while we're at it, Kahsyap's demographic status doesn't make him much more safe than any of the women.
