SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - Some bus drivers with Hotard Coaches in Sulphur are holding a work stand down this morning after they say they tried to bring their concerns to management.

The drivers are citing concerns like working conditions, safety, and pay.

KPLC spoke to one bus driver this morning who says the drivers don’t feel like their contract is being honored by the company.

At the company’s location in Sulphur, driver Trilena Steward says, “To us it’s not really a strike. We’re standing in solidarity because we just want our needs and our demands heard. We just want fair wages and a fair contract...We’re being overworked and underpaid...And now, instead of compensating us, you want to cut our work now? That’s not fair to us. That’s why we’re standing in solidarity together, so we can come to an agreement. At the end of the day, we all love our jobs. We all love what we do. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t all be here standing today. We just want what’s fair.”
