U.S. Looking At Taking Action Against China For Cyber-attacks
Source: AP
The Obama administration is considering more assertive action against Beijing to combat a persistent cyber-espionage campaign it believes Chinese hackers are waging against U.S. companies and government agencies.
As The New York Times and Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that their computer systems had been infiltrated by China-based hackers, cybersecurity experts said the U.S. government is eyeing more pointed diplomatic and trade measures.
Two former U.S. officials said the administration is preparing a new National Intelligence Estimate that, when complete, is expected to detail the cyberthreat, particularly from China, as a growing economic problem. Neither of the former officials was authorized to discuss the classified report and spoke only on condition of anonymity.

I suspect they have been doing this for a longer period then stated. This is how China operates. They are not original in any way shape or form. Its all priated, copied, copyrighted U.S. property. From what I understand, Microsoft pulls its hair out to find a code that can't be duped in its operating systems. All the computers I used when I lived there had antique XP systems. EVERYWHERE! So please, if you're buying a computer, just make sure its either a Dell, or HP...not a Lanovo, or Acer. Its Chinese.

Good luck Obama Administration dealing with that ingrained attitude.

(31,493 posts)Oh no we can't afford that ...let's see if we can get the government to do it for us. Da fuck! I used to hack Chinese websites back in the late 90's. Hardly call it hacking but they used to use telnet on Turbo linux OS. I'd put a sniffer on the telnet port and catch l/p's, then I'd use a cross scripting hack to get root ...even better if the l/p was from a stupid admin. Easy shit. Now they are the the hackers? WTF how lame. The US is so dragging ass yet. Big ass corporations can't hire a $12 an hour port monitor? Hell ...you can set up a software port monitor to email you with the activities ....how easy can it be? The best and easiest thing you can do is install a Ubuntu or variant OS or a Mac and use Firefox and avoid all the lame ass ms Winsux, IExploder hacks.
