Democratic Congresswoman Signals ‘Intention’ To Challenge Pennsylvania Gov. Corbett

Source: TPM

Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) admitted in a story published Monday that it's her plan to vacate her House seat and challenge Gov. Tom Corbett (R-PA) in the state's gubernatorial race next year.

"It is my intention," Schwartz, currently in her fifth term as a congresswoman, told the Philadelphia Daily News.

"I am very disappointed in the lack of leadership, vision and effectiveness of this governor," Schwartz said of Corbett.

Schwartz may also be emboldened by a poll from Quinnipiac University released last month that showed Corbett with a negative approval rating at the midpoint of his first term.

Corbett is vulnerable for sure, but a lot can change in the next 20-something months.
