Too ill to travel, Hawking will appear in Houston by video

Stephen Hawking, a brilliant theoretical physicist and putatively the world's most famous living scientist, is too ill to travel to Houston from Britain for a public lecture.

Doctors would not allow trans-Atlantic travel for the 71-year-old, who has lived for half a century with a motor neuron disease.

"He is in frail condition, and his doctors have very specifically forbid him from traveling across the Atlantic Ocean," said Scott Brogan, the founding and executive director of the Brilliant Lecture Series, which organized the talk to be given Tuesday night at Jones Hall.

"He feels horrible about not being able to be here personally."

He IS 71 year old - and have lived a full life, even after the doctors told him, that if he lived true 25 year he would be a very lucky man... He have survived many illnesses, and more than one near miss with death...

I just hope he Will be well soon - and able to do what he can do best - be one of the greatest mind on the planet today.. He is an impressive man - even just true a TV screen..
