Huckabee: Benghazi will drive Obama from office

Source: Politico

Mike Huckabee on Monday predicted that President Barack Obama won’t finish out his second term in light of the “cover-up” of the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and the former Arkansas governor called the affair “more serious than Watergate.”

“I believe that before it’s all over, this president will not fill out his full term. I know that puts me on a limb,” the former Arkansas governor said on “The Mike Huckabee Show.” “But this is not minor. It wasn’t minor when Richard Nixon lied to the American people and worked with those in his administration to cover-up what really happened in Watergate. But, I remind you — as bad as Watergate was, because it broke the trust between the president and the people, no one died. This is more serious because four Americans did in fact die.”

Huckabee, however, said his predication about Obama “will not happen” if the Democrats seize control of the House and retain control of the Senate next year.

“If they’re able to get control of the House and maintain the Senate, this will not happen because they won’t let it happen,” Huckabee said.

Not all of the lead in House seats despite more votes nationally are due to gerrymandering (although for damn sure a good part of it is) but also due to overwhelming Democratic victories in urban districts etc, vs more modest ones for repubs in some of theirs. But the suppression is just plain sickening and there's no way of even telling how many millions of mostly black and brown, and young voters have been stripped of their right to vote by these Fascists. And they've only just begun this effort really. But ultimately, I still have to put the responsibility for all these whack job repubs being elected on the mind numbing (and numbed) stupidity (and racism etc) of tens of millions of citizens.

Mon May 6, 2013, 05:52 PM
May 2013

it doesn't matter what issue

IF all the whiners and the far left don't stop whining and start supporting-
the republicans will do this for any silly reason, it matters little.

So perhaps its time for the whiners to stop with their division and get to backing
ANY DEMOCRATIC PERSON on the ticket in their hometown

unless of course, those people actually aren't democratic voters in the first place and they
would Nader-like enjoy it.

(of course, all republican plans backfire as did after JFK was taken away from us.

Because the republican's worse nightmare came true when LBJ had the gravitas to pull off the historic voting rights/civil rights acts and the 100s of other great things that assured
the republican party would be toast in 2016.

The greatest thing about President Obama is, he is NOT an egotist. He doesn't think about himself, but about others, and always keeps his eye on the longterm prize.

And its going to happen after Hillary is elected for 2 terms.
That will be the 80-20. It's a coming.

And Mike neverwillbee is just posturing to his small and every day declining audience.

In fact, this self-promotion by Mike shouldn't even be given the time of day on this site.

and had 55 Senators - far more than anyone thinks the Republicans could possibly have in 2015 - when they impeached Clinton, but the Senate did NOT throw him out of office.

Not to mention, my observation that the Presidents who were impeached in modern times were impeached for personal or party actions - Monica and Watergate. There was a far better case to impeach Bush for lying us into the Iraq war (and the Downing Street memos were there in 2005 or 2006 to prove that he had) or Bush 1 and/or Reagan for Iran/Contra which was illegal on many many dimensions - from arming the Contras AGAINST legislation from Congress, to trading Iran weapons for money to covertly aid the Contras and to get some hostages in Lebanon returned and allowing the Contras to bring cocaine into the country.

My view is that it is easy for America (or any country really) to reject a leader for PERSONAL failures than for actions they made the country take - as the latter reflects on the country - the former just on the leader.

They’ve Lost Fox And Friends: GOP Claims Of Benghazi ‘Cover Up’ Collapses

Fox News’ morning show, Fox & Friends, is taking a surprisingly skeptical approach to GOP claims that the Obama administration and the entire U.S. government engaged in a massive cover-up of the attacks on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya in an effort to re-elect the president and protect him from scrutiny.

On Monday, the trio of hosts invited Rep. Jassen Chaffetz (R-UT) — a regular fixture on cable television and a critic of Obama’s handling of the September 11, 2012 attacks — to discuss the House Republicans’ upcoming hearing with three witnesses who claim that the administration prevented them from speaking out about the incident. “We were certainly misled at every step of the way,” Chaffetz said, arguing that officials manipulated the findings of the Accountability Review Board, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice’s talking points, and told military officials on the ground not to interfere or protect American interests during the attack.

The hosts then tore into Chaffetz’s theory, wondering if Admirals Thomas Pickering and Mike Mullen, who headed the review, the entire CIA, and Republican-appointed officials could all be “complicit” in such a massive conspiracy: ...

In any event, the wingers are saying their goal in these hearings this week is to get the ball rolling for a Special Prosecutor to get more carrer people at State and CIA under oath until someone spills that the information from the Administration prior to the election was a fraud with the full knowledge of Hillary and Obama.

I am sure they will be able to find few in the military and State Department who will be willing to even lie to help them unseat the President. It's going to work out for them the same way going after Clinton did. They also know they would not be able to beat HRC if she decides to run so my guess is they are trying to use Benghazi as a way to kill two birds with one stone. Republican Party will do anything to try and gain Power. They did it to Carter, Clinton and now trying it with Obama. The Far Rightwing is still there. They have already started on Hillary Clinton. They do not want to work with the Democratic Party. It took the Left to save Clinton's impeachment. It might be the case, it will take the Left to save Mr Obama. As a person that has moved further Left, I realize what America is dealing with in the other Party. Especially when a good number of them talk about arming themselves and secession when things don't go their way in an Election. The last time that happened, this country had a Bloody War. Our problem is not external but internal. A lot of Americans don't want to come to grips with that.
