Dick Cheney to compete in 1 Shot Antelope Hunt

LANDER, Wyo.—Dick Cheney will be shooting for Wyoming in this year's One Shot Antelope Hunt.

Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead told KOVE-AM ( http://bit.ly/ZWmcOH) Friday that the former vice president will join him in the Sept. 21 hunt in Lander. It will be the first time Cheney has participated in the event, co-hosted by Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper.

The event started in 1940 as a duel between Wyoming and Colorado and governors traditionally lead their state teams. It's since grown into a premier event that attracts hunters from all over.

Members of each three-person hunting team are allowed one shot to kill an antelope. The team that kills the most antelope in the shortest time wins.

I wouldn't want to be around with him. I'm surprised that the Governor would still trust Cheney with a... gun? Considering allegations that Cheney did intentionally shot his "friend" in the face, it will never get to the light of the day.

Bottom line, I wouldn't trust Dick with a gun.

Just for a second I thought Dicky was going to be shot at an antelope.

So a three person team of politicians is going to shoot at X amount of antelope?
As fat old guys don't walk over broken ground well, I have to assume they won't be stalking.
As politicos feel they deserve special privileges I assume there will be shooting benches and penned animals.
Since 1 shot may not equal 1 kill, just a wounded antelope which doesn't count in the competition; I assume the VIPs won't have to take a second shot. Requiring mercy killers to finish the job after letting the animal suffer as punishment for dodging.
As there is a time limit, not a 3 kill limit, I assume the hunting grounds will sound like the Battle of Greasy Grass (Little Big Horn).
As a keen a shot as Dicky will be there, I hope there will be sandbags.

And if justice existed, the antelope would be able to bring Grizzlies.

Remember Watt? He was Reagan's unspeakably vile Secretary of the Interior, and a participant in the One-Shot Hunt. A color photo of Watt came out back then, showing him beside a dead antelope he bagged on the hunt---he was covered in blood, and he had this big drooling grin on his face. Not for the easily offended. The B&W photos I turned up on Google don't have near the impact. I'm sure Watt and Cheney are big pals to this very day; they deserve one another.
