California Gov. Jerry Brown to redirect "Enterprise Zone" Funds for jobs.

The Governor’s plan directs tax credits to businesses that are actually creating new, quality jobs -- something the broken enterprise zone program has failed miserably in achieving. The Governor outlined his program today in a release to media:

The Governor’s plan, proposed in the May Revision, builds on the framework of existing, targeted programs by redirecting approximately $750 million annually from the current flawed Enterprise Zone program to three new economic development programs:

Its stores like Wal-Fart that take advantage of this tax break and use it to our disadvantage. I'm happy to live in a state where the governor actually knows about laws, and what they translate into--in comparison to the previous dim bulb that squated on "L" street.

shredded by a decade of cuts under Ahh-nuld and now Brown (D-?).

Our $4 billion surplus, as determined by the Legislative Analyst's Office, got knocked down to $2.4 billion by Brown (D-?). Then he promised all of that to schools and (!) debt service. That left only a hundred million or so (these guys keep that much in checking) for CalWORKS (remember, we can't say "welfare&quot and Medi-Cal dental services. In-Home Supportive Services, that keeps people with disabilities out of nursing homes? 8 percent cut, agreed to in a legal settlement in which the plaintiffs had no knowledge of the impending settlement.
