Lawyers for theater shooting suspect say he did it

Source: AP

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — For the first time, lawyers for accused theater shooter James Holmes say he killed 12 people and wounded dozens more at an Aurora movie theater last summer.

But Holmes' lawyers say he was "in the throes of a psychotic episode" at the time.

The admission came in a motion filed Tuesday but made public Wednesday. His lawyers were trying to argue that Holmes should be unrestrained during his upcoming trial.

"Holmes suffers from a severe mental illness and was in the throes of a psychotic episode when he committed the acts that resulted in the tragic loss of life and injuries," Holmes' lawyers wrote.

Holmes is completely batshit crazy and I don't want to see him given anything other than a permanent berth in a rubber room.

life without parole. His lawyer's say he did it and there's no doubt he did. Killing him accomplishes nothing. Our best hope is to study him and find out just what set him off (and no I'm not advocating he be a guinea pig). Part of the problem is the warning signs were ignored or missed and had he been stopped it would have saved lives.
