Google hosting fundraiser for Republican Senator Jim Inhofe

Source: Raw Story

Google, which prides itself on building a “better web that is better for the environment”, is hosting a fundraiser for the most notorious climate change denier in Congress, it has emerged.

The lunch, at the company’s Washington office, will benefit the Oklahoma Republican Jim Inhofe, who has made a career of dismissing climate change as a “hoax” on the Senate floor.

Proceeds of the 11 July lunch, priced at $250 to $2,500, will also go to the national Republican Senate Committee.

It’s the second show of support from Google for the anti-climate cause in recent weeks.

They are a frigging money-making corporation. That "Don't be evil" bullshit is a catchphrase, like "Got Milk?" or "Gillette--the best a man can get!" They don't actually MEAN it. They never did. They're big fat liars, actually!

Hell, these are the bastards who kowtowed to the Chinese and made it easier for them to SPY ON THEIR OWN PEOPLE (capitalized letters offered for IRONY, given the news stories of late) as well as ensured that the Chinese people did not have free and unfettered access to the world wide web.

Don't be evil? Yeah, right!

I use only this one-
https://startpage.com/

Startpage, and its sister search engine Ixquick, are the only third-party certified search engines in the world that do not record your IP address or track your searches.

Every time you use a regular search engine, your search data is recorded. Major search engines capture your IP address and use tracking cookies to make a record of your search terms, the time of your visit, and the links you choose - then they store that information in a giant database.

Those searches reveal a shocking amount of personal information about you, such as your interests, family circumstances, political leanings, medical conditions, and more. This information is modern-day gold for marketers, government officials, black-hat hackers and criminals - all of whom would love to get their hands on your private search data.

It's free.

Been using it for six months and love it. It tells you what companies you're blocking and, when I went to DuckDuckGo yesterday, it told me they weren't tracking at all and that I should thank them.

It makes you invisible, basically. They also offer other personal security software. Check it out.

If the only people donating to him are climate deniers, of COURSE Inhofe will reject the science. If you can't beat them, buy them!

Idiothofe's war chest is already huge.

Google is probably hosting this event to avert charges of bias when they come to the aid of more reasonable candidates.

He is an extreme embarrassment to my state, but there isn't much we can do except hope the senator continues to pilot small aircraft with his increasingly diminishing faculties.

How about a constitutional amendment to downsize congress? Why two senators? Having only one per state should suffice and would save an enormous amount of tax dollars.
