Huma Abedin Forgives Anthony Weiner: 'I Love Him And I Forgive Him'
Source: The International Business Times
Abedin, who stood smiling by his side, spoke for the first time at a press conference regarding her husbands sexting, which he admitted continued after he resigned from Congress after being exposed.
Abedin began: As many of you who have followed this campaign know, Ive spent a good deal [of time] on the campaign trail. But this is the first time Ive spoken at a press conference.
It took a lot of work and a lot of therapy to get to the place I am now, Abedin said. It was not an easy choice. But I made the decision to stay in this marriage. It was a choice I made for me, my son and our family.
She finished with, I love him, I have forgiven him and I believe him and as I have said from the beginning we are moving forward.

While some marriages may be open, and I recognize that - it's obvious from many of their faces it's a humiliating experience.
While I wish these sorts of issues weren't even brought up in the first place, I see someone who has a fling and someone who has impulse control/addiction issues as a very different case.

(7,403 posts)This is not what normal people do so he needs to seek help. New York City needs a full-time Mayor, not somebody in the middle of treatment and dogged by clouded judgment so they need to look elsewhere for their next Mayor.

(27,453 posts)This a bigger issue now. Weiner lacks common sense and self control and it's manifesting in a pretty bizarre way. She may forgive him, but doubt the voters are going to be so inclined. We cast our votes for people we believe will best be able to do the job of representing us. I just think he has too many problems to fully focus on the demands of being NYC mayor.
We'll see if he stays in the race and what the voters decide.
