HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania | Tue Jul 30, 2013 3:13pm EDT
(Reuters) - There is enough evidence to try former Penn State officials, including ex-president Graham Spanier, for covering up the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal, a judge ruled on Tuesday.
After a two-day hearing, Judge Harrisburg District Judge William Wenner ruled that a criminal trial can be held for Spanier, 65, former athletic director Tim Curley, 59, and former senior vice president Gary Schultz, 63.
Sandusky, 69, a former assistant football coach, was convicted in June 2012 of 45 counts of sexual abuse involving 10 boys. He is serving a sentence of 30 to 60 years in a state prison.
