Father of slain bomb suspect’s friend plans lawsuit

The father of a friend of Tamerlan Tsarnaev who was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida in May, said today he is seeking a civil suit against the FBI for his son’s death.

Abdulbaki Todashev, father of Ibragim Todashev, said in a telephone interview from Florida that he was meeting with lawyers and human rights groups and “I want to suggest that they make a civil suit against the FBI for wrongful death.”

He said he did not want to wait for the results of an internal investigation by the FBI.

“At this point, I don’t care about their reasons for shooting my son,” he said. “I don’t believe them, because they committed an unprecedented act of murder, and these people need to be tried and judged.”
