Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan headline Koch summit
Source: Politico
Rep. Paul Ryan, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez secretly spoke to wealthy donors at the Koch brothers recently concluded summer gathering on the outskirts of Albuquerque.
The 2012 vice presidential candidate and No. 2 House Republican are return participants to the twice-annual seminar, which also drew wealthy donors and conservative nonprofit leaders including American Enterprise Institute President Arthur Brooks.
The meeting featured some discussion of the unfolding GOP Senate primary challenges to Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Sen. Mike Enzi of Wyoming, but no consensus opinion emerged, a source who attended the event told POLITICO. The source said that Cantor and Ryan both delivered presentations that were well-received by donors, as was Brookss speech on work as a source of happiness.
A spokesman for Cantors office declined to comment, while Ryans office did not immediately respond to questions.

(1,957 posts)Great way to start getting people new jobs. It's so nice that they have tight security for the haves while those who live on the wrong side of the tracks can't even go outside because of the fear of gang wars and criminals. While they all seem to be on the same cozy side of insanity I see that they really did not really agree on the heavy issues--just the fluffy ones. It used to be Democrat versus Republican but now it's rich versus poor. Us versus them. Sadly they have the power(actually money, clout, fear) to do what they want and screw the little guy--the people that get in their way of getting even more $$$$ It must be nice to have a blind eye to the struggling, the poor the very ones they keep down and out while all the time blame these same people for the sad shape of the economy.
