Suicide bomber kills 30 at policeman's funeral in Pakistan

At least 30 people were confirmed dead and 62 wounded, said Babar Yaqoob Fateh Mohammad, the provincial chief secretary.
Twenty-one of the dead were police officers, Sukhera said. Others had not been identified but children attending the funeral were among the dead and wounded, Mohammed said.

The explosion, at a supposedly secure location in one of Pakistan's most heavily militarized cities, again calls into question the ability of the security services to defend themselves and curb the escalating insurgency.
The Quetta attack was captured live on television as cameras broadcast mourners and journalists scrambling away from the mosque.

A bomb has killed 12 women and two children in a cemetery in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar.
They were visiting the grave of a wife of a pro-government tribal leader during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, when the device went off.
It appears that many of the victims were from the same family. At least three people were also injured.
The graveside bombing is the latest in a series of attacks in the province on the border with Pakistan.
