Anthony Weiner: 'I Do' Know Huma Abedin's Role In Hillary Clinton's 2016 Campaign

Source: Huffington Post

In a BuzzFeed Brews interview on Monday, New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner (D) told BuzzFeed Editor Ben Smith that he knows what wife Huma Abedin's role in Hillary Clinton's potential 2016 presidential bid will be.

Whether he'd share the information, however, was another story.

"I do," he said, in response to Smith's question. "I'm not telling you."

Abedin has been an aide to Clinton since the Former First Lady's White House days, currently serving as her transition office chief. Abedin is reportedly taking an extended vacation from her position with Clinton in the weeks leading up to her husband's mayoral primary election, according to Politico.

His 'I'm still a player and I'm in the loop' comment is just going to get poor Huma cut off from Hillary.

STFU.

Using LGBT In a derogatory fashion, to try and win an argument or score points against someone you don't politically like, is just disgusting, IMHO.

Or, do you not detect a bit of passive-aggression behind his words and actions? We're all adults here, and should be able to speak freely.

That doesn't mean that saying he is a beard, to cover up Hillary and Huma's secret lesbian love affair, to smear him, hillary or huma, is necessary. Also, what I think are doing, which you may not realize, is using LGBT in a negative fashion to score political points. You aren't harming the political opponent, you are harming LGBT when that is done. Please re-think.

Wasn't meant as a slur.

Okay, I'll retract the comment with an apology to those who think it shows bias.

without adding in subconscious biases.. Some of this is so ingrained and accepted in society, that it takes a lot to notice it within ourselves sometimes. Anyone can get caught up in it. It doesn't make one a homophobe. I was not implying that. Especially when one is willing to listen and be sensitive to the issue.

with something that no one can make a case for. Every person who has run for President has someone who is their close personal aide. There are plenty of articles written on them and with a bit of thought we can dig up their names. (Kerry's was Marvin Nickleson) In Hillary's case, she was further hurt by RW rumors that suggested everything from having an affair with Vince Foster to being gay -- all in an effort to smear her and her husband.

I do think that the comment that there is some passive/aggressive behavior here on the part of Weiner may be true. ALL of us know that campaigns start long before they are public and that the people really involved stay quiet. The fact that Hillary has announced that she will give a string of speeches is a pretty good sign that she is likely to run -- and the polling numbers are more than encouraging. However, she deserves the right to test the water and make the decision herself. I agree with some that he may be enough of a distraction and a negative that she might drop his wife - from her current staff as well as any future campaign. (Oddly, she might be more reluctant than most as she personally knows how little control a wife could have over this and that there are reasons to stay in the marriage.)

These are some of the most complex, and it's awfully hard to discuss them in anything but the most one-dimensional way without upsetting someone's sensibilities.

This is why I normally keep it narrowly focused on policies. Again, with an apology.

ie... a different standard, that a stong women, entering a male dominated feild is a lesbian. It's stereotypical sexist tropisms. It can be viewed as homophobic and sexist.

Never qualify an apology, it renders the apology almost meaningless and is something that pols and celebs do all the time.

If your apology is sincere (and I believe it is), why limit it to only "those who think it shows bias"?

If I step on your foot, I offer apology and express regret for stepping on your foot, whether I hurt you or not. I do not say "I am sorry IF I hurt your foot." as this renders my apology conditional to your injury and negates it if you were not hurt.

The difference is too subtle for some folk, but is really quite important.

Again, this is NOT meant as chastisement, simply advisement.

First, he needs to drop out of the race. He's currently in last place and has become the butt of everybody's jokes.

Second, he needs to keep his mouth shut. He has already done enough damage to his wife, both personally and professionally (by his own admission). Hillary hasn't announced, nor intends to announce any time soon, whether she plans to run in 2016 and here comes big mouth Weiner all but confirming her run.

Gee............
