Oxford Conservatives embroiled in controversy over prank on disabled student

The Oxford University Conservative Association has become embroiled in controversy after its treasurer allegedly played a 'bullying' prank on a vulnerable disabled student, sending him on a 'wild goose chase' around the city dressed in white tie.
The prank will further tarnish the reputation of the Association after it was caught up in a racism row almost two years ago when members allegedly sang a Nazi-themed song. Others complained that members from working-class backgrounds were ridiculed by a clique of former public schoolboys.
Chris Frost, who studies history at Oriel College, began texting a first-year student with a severe physical disability - who does not wish to be named - half-way through a termly Association dinner.
There was a spare seat at the table which needed filling, and Mr Frost, realising that the student was desperately trying to locate a friend whom he wanted to surprise, informed him that the friend would be present at the dinner in order to make him turn up.
Mr Frost, 21, instructed the student to change into white tie before ordering him to go to Somerville College, where the meal was being held.

(4,297 posts)This is true even of minor "pranks" such as this one. I am inspired by the courage of the physically-disabled student, winning academic achievements at the university level despite intimidating physical struggle, in defiance of overwhelming pain, and, on top of all this, the constant indecent harassment by depraved savages such as this one. Surely there can be no controversy over this bizarre incident, by anyone who is trying to conserve our hard-won principles of civilization!

(12,530 posts)Regarding the Nazi song this little group sang a couple of years back, I'm guessing there are lots of British citizens who would love to backhand these know-nothing punks, these punks who didn't die by the thousands in Europe, who didn't have to find a way to somehow exist with the nightly terror of the Blitz, and who damn sure never read about the millions of Russians (both military and civilian) who were chewed up by the Wehrmacht. I think I'd beat them with a history book for about an hour, then make them read it.
