George Zimmerman’s Wife Says He Has ‘Beaten Down Her Self Esteem’
Source: ABC News
The Florida investigative journalist who is the first reporter to sit down with George Zimmermans wife, Shellie, said that during their stunning hourlong interview, the acquitted killers wife said that her husband has beaten down her self-esteem, but she is looking forward to getting her life back.
***
It put great stress on their marriage, she said. Constantly having to move. She got threats. A lot of threats. She doesnt want to reveal from who
. They are constantly living under fear of being attacked.
OConnor, who is working on a book about the George Zimmerman trial, also hinted that there was evidence that was mishandled, saying that during the sensational trial, there were so many untruths told.
What the jury never heard could have led to a different verdict, she said.

My guess is that they divorce in the next year or two and a very unflattering picture of George Zimmerman gets painted.
As you might recall, he did have a former girlfriend put a restraining order against him.

I have no knowledge of Shellie at all, beyond her current perjury problems (which no doubt Georgie Porgie pressured her into) and am by no means engaging in armchair diagnosis here, but I have seen a large number of somewhat similar cases, and offer the following generalization:
Very often, the women who are attracted to violent and antisocial personality types have very sad histories. They typically have a rather predictable set of personality traits. They often come from backgrounds in which they had been sexually, emotionally, and/or physically abused, usually beginning at an early age. They will put up with a great deal of abuse from their partners. They are unstable and seem to have poorly-formed personalities. They often have little concept of truth or of truth-telling. They cycle between idealizing their partners and being disgusted and angry with them. They may be prone to suicidal gestures or "parasuicidal" self-injury. They typically have a profound fear of abandonment, and if they feel that they have been abandoned, they may turn on the one who abandoned them and seek revenge with all the tools at their disposal.
I would not want to be George.

And didn't he get stopped in Texas?
In that clip, you see the mother of George nudging the wife outta the way in court, to stand between her son and his wife. Hmmm.
They might get divorced sooner rather than later.

E.g.:
Shooting Trayvon wasn't in little Georgie's make up at all...but beating, abusing, bullying, mocking, being aggressive....well, sure, that was. So maybe, just maybe, he 'stepped over the line' just that once.....? Maybe his unfocused anger at me, at life, at his job, at his overbearing mama, got taken out on that young lad....?
She's gonna need some kind of hook to sell that book, after all...she'll want to dish as much dirt as possible to get a good payday, and she'll need that.

I know there are quite a few Zimmerman 'supporters' here who will disagree . . . but I've been with one of these creatures. Many, many years ago. The smartest thing a woman in her position can do is speak.
I wonder if she is going to have to stay in Florida? I.E. If she can run through her community service in a few weeks, and go back and get permission to move for the rest of her probation period. I wouldn't even go back to my maiden name if I was her. The assets aren't there, they have no kids - she needs to get away from him and this chapter in her life and put her degree to good use.
He'll find his next victim soon enough. . .

I don't know if states have agreements to handle the parolees of others under specific circumstances--maybe a deal like that could be worked out.
Sometimes, people petition the court to get permission to live elsewhere--she might try that if she has a good enough reason to ask.
I still think that Z-bully murdered that kid, and he was at fault for that entire encounter.

(15,237 posts)She was in the process of getting a restraining order, the judge had not finished his paperwork. The husband who had beat her called the school to take the children. The Mother came to school heard that the father would come to school to get the children. We allowed her to call the local Sheriff whose department told the mother to take her children and leave school immediately, the restraining order was coming. As she left school the father met her on the road and tried to force her off with the children in the car. He hit a tree and cut his forehead. Guess who was arrested by the same Sheriff who told the mother to flee? I know of at least three moves she made to flee this man. About 5 years later I got word she and her children survived and were still in hiding.
George, who was allowed to retaliate in court in kind against his girl friends restraining order reminded me of this incident.

He's a f***ing idiot -- we already knew that. We all know he's guilty of murder, and should be in jail.
But if he is stupid enough to walk out on his wife -- who stood by him when he didn't deserve it -- who could tell the world all about him and what really happened -- the real story -- he deserves everything she dishes out and more.
Bring it on Shellie, we'll be waiting. Plenty of people would be willing to help you if you tell the truth now.
It looks like that is what she is poised to do -- tell the truth.

An argument substantial enough to make one leave the house for the night has to be substantial. I'm sure it wasn't over George leaving the toilet seat up.
This all seems to further my personal theory of the case: George Zimmerman was steaming mad that night.
He and his wife were on the outs, she's not even staying in the house with him, it's raining and now he sees this asshole fucking punk black kid walking through his neighborhood who he's certain will make trouble like all the other black kids that he's called police on, just to get a late response from the police.
