Story was updated but no other details as yet except as quoted above.
Any bets on how long before right-wing extremists publish that her child is Obama's?

When the government puts radios in people's dental work, just how do you think they manage to get that done?
She had seen enough teeth to know what's really going on.

(63,912 posts)I keep wondering how such as rich state as ours could not help her. If she had had a head injury, did she not get some medical attention somewhere along the line? And why didn't her employer wonder why she was acting so strangely after her injury. Did he/she not try to find out why her behavior was so erratic?
I'm hoping the press will start investigating what happened with her...

(29,414 posts)Sometimes people don't connect the dots and just assume it's an "attitude problem."
And I would assume that your local news would investigate and publish more about her than the national media will. Look to the local free papers, especially the weeklies, for better-quality investigative reporting. (Locally, we have The Houston Press, published by the Village Voice, as our best investigative news team.)

(47,953 posts)I mean it. The laws on mental health are so lax that basically, unless you commit a crime, you are free to go about your life as mentally ill as you 'want'. I had a loved one who became bipolar/delusional, and could do nothing to get them help as they insisted that they were 'fine' They believed they were receiving 'telepathy' from Rupert Murdoch. They finally were arrested for resisting arrest (basically ignoring an officer) and finally got committed to a mental hospital where they got some help. But it was a long, frustrating, and horrendous process. Maybe if this woman had done this stuff in a less sensitive environment, she might have gotten help also.

Because Post Partum Depression doesn't exist in the USA, she was never eligible for treatment. What she had was a streak of evil like that last mother that killed her kids.

CanSocDem
(3,286 posts)...the "sarcasm" tag because I know very well that it exists. What doesn't exist, in my opinion, is an honest look at the social and psychological pressures that women face in bringing a child into this world.
I think all new mothers need appropriate counseling throughout the pregnancy and birth. This is why I support MidWife programs and the movements to 'de-medicalize' childbirth.
I object to the public demonizing of mothers who kill their children. Replacing a mothers love with lethal malice is surely a mental illness. Too often the MSM runs with extremist speculating rather than deal with the lack of public health.
I apologize for not being clear.
