Boehner ties government reopening to 2-party talks

Source: AP

House Speaker John Boehner is demanding the White House and congressional Democrats negotiate with congressional Republicans about ways to re-open the government and address criticisms of the president's health care law.

Boehner told reporters Friday: "This isn't some damn game." He said House Republicans still want "fairness to the American people" under the program critics call "Obamacare."

President Barack Obama has refused GOP efforts to delay a major element of the health law enacted in 2010.

House Republican Whip Kevin McCarthy says Obama's decision to cancel an Asia trip offers the "perfect opportunity to begin negotiations."

I think Boehner is feeling the heat.

They should start their negotiation and let us know when they are done resolving to unconditionally surrender to the people of this country - period.

It's fucking law. You failed to stop it in the House. The Senate. The SCOTUS. AND an election.

You. Lost.

Now sit down and shut the fuck up like the good little orange drunkard you are.

(Sorry 'bout that. Boehner is just really startin' to piss me off here.)

Though he clearly has the weaker hand, he's clearly and inexplicably gunning for some kind of "bums rush" to make democrats blink, ala: "alright we're here talking and we can end this right now; just give us something...Anything!"

He wants to appear to go down swinging; but go down he will.

Call it the Reid rule and make it law. Clean CRs only, from now on.

That needs to be the message.

I hope the outcome of this deliberately induced chaos is that the Republican party's chances of success in future federal elections is destroyed.

California is now beginning to make progress after removing their ability to impede reasonable policies. The entire country needs to likewise get rid of these political sociopaths.

President Obama giving Boehner something (small … very small and after the debt ceiling fight) to save face will be like pouring more gas onto the intra-gop bon-fire. It’ll keep Boehner in place and give beck and the tea-partiers more to attack establishment republicans.

It benefits Democrats to play both gop sides against one another.

said that what the Tea-Baggers really want to negotiate is about the requirement that corporations cover abortion.

That can't be compromised. It is a lifeline for women.
