Fox News Inks Dr. Ben Carson to Contributor Deal

Source: Mediaite

After several months making frequent appearances on Fox News, pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson has officially joined the network as a contributor. He will provide analysis and commentary across Fox’s daytime and primetime programming.

Carson rose to cable news prominence earlier this year when he spoke out against Obamacare, political correctness, and the accumulation of federal debt while standing several feet away from President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast. That moment and his controversial comments regarding gay marriage garnered him a slew of cable news appearances, from CNN to MSNBC to (most frequently) Fox.

In making the announcement, Fox chief Roger Ailes said: “Dr. Carson is a brilliant neurosurgeon who has dedicated his life to healing others. He also has a broad perspective on what’s going on in the country and his wisdom and provocative viewpoints will make a major contribution to our network.”

2. BILL MAHER CALLS DR. BEN CARSON ‘HALF BRILLIANT BRAIN SURGEON, HALF TEA PARTY DUMBASS’
Wed Oct 9, 2013, 06:39 PM
Oct 2013

Bill Maher unloaded on Dr. Ben Carson on Friday, calling him “half brilliant brain surgeon, half Tea Party dumbass.”

“Dr. Ben Carson is the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins and the first doctor to separate conjoined twins at the head,” Maher said on his HBO show “Real Time with Bill Maher.” “And he believes the Earth is 6,000 years old, and that homosexuality is akin to bestiality, and that the Bible calls for a flat fax. He’s half brilliant brain surgeon, half Tea Party dumbass. He doesn’t just operate on conjoined twins, he is one.”

“He’s also someone who many Republicans are encouraging to run for president in 2016, and why not?” he continued. “There’s no more attractive figure in the Republican Party these days than an anti-intellectual with an advanced degree. People like Antonin Scalia, Ted Cruz and Bobby Jindal who are accomplished scholars on the outside, and on the inside a creamy layer of Michele Bachmann.”

10. There are plenty of great brain surgeons. I wouldn't do business with Ben Carson.

Just like I wouldn't do business with Bain Capital.

Besides, he's not doing surgery any more. He's a mouthpiece for Fox. And I am pretty sure, despite his success separating the conjoined twins, he will not be able to separate his head from his ass.

..who has advanced skills as a surgeon, turn around his intelligence and experience and be a mouthpiece for Cluster faux--or the tea party no-less???

And here you have someone who could be an inspiration and leader for kids struggling in minority communities. But instead, he wants to be a part of a bunch of "dumb-asses" who can only find time to bash ACA and claim the president is not an American citizen.

Seriously.

Do African-Americans get paid more to show off for the other dumb ass tea freaks?

I don't get it. Sorry if there has been an explanation before, but I must have missed it. I'm just perplexed as to why someone of color would want to take a step backwards.

Most African-Americans I know don't watch cluster faux and have no interest in the dumb ass party--who BTW displays Obama with Hitler mustache at rallies. Last I checked, the tea party has been called a bunch of racists or supporters of such beliefs.

Mind-boggling.

16. There are two basic reasons that Black people become wingers

The first one is quite obvious: Money. It's the same reason that gays and lesbians become Log Cabin Republicans. Money trumps all.

The second reason happens to be the fact that Black wingers become instant novelties in the conservative world, ripe for explanation and beards for winger racism. A lot of them have utter contempt for the Civil Rights establishment and they spend all of their time trying to denigrate Civil Rights' leaders.

That's pure haterade.

In Dr. Carson's case, it's quite clear that, even though he's a brilliant doctor, he's quite politically and socially naive. He looks at himself as a privileged person, who can't be bothered with being thrown into the second class citizenship that most American Blacks suffer from.

In that case, he's just like Clarence Thomas.

And can be very, very authoritarian and right wing.

The fact that there were many physicians in the KKK demonstrates as much.

Just in case he is finding his way, or is lost, he took the wrong road--that being with a bunch of tea freaks.

For years, political scientists have been talking about how the demographic changes in the United States are inexorably leading to a Democratic majority, with Hispanics and Asian-Americans joining African-Americans and liberal urban whites to erode the political domains of white conservatives and white racists.

But those predictions have always assumed a consistent commitment to the democratic principle of one person, one vote – and a readiness of Republicans to operate within the traditional standards of democratic governance. But what should now be crystal clear is that those assumptions are faulty.

Instead of accepting the emergence of this more diverse and multi-cultural America, the Right – through the Tea Party-controlled Republicans – has decided to alter the constitutional framework of the United States to guarantee the perpetuation of white supremacy and the acceptance of right-wing policies.
