(154 posts)a disgusting display from the bottom dwellers of the republican party.
and the old timers there go along with it, many of whom probably get medicare or VA benefits. they take part in this charade instead of speaking truth. they vote for the people that harm them, all because of the black man.

(7,759 posts)they had nothing to do with it and make sound bites for blaming the President and the Democrats for the memorial closings. Lots of vets will fall for this BS. "Shut the government down"-Cruz and Palin are unbelievable phonies.

My head hurts.

(38,187 posts)How can people be so blind that they believe these Republican snake oil salespeople? They are turning our entire government, our entire country, into a laughing stock and a three ring circus at the same time. This is beyond ridiculous.

(38,187 posts)Veterans are being used as political pawns. How many of them were actually veterans, I wonder. This entire debacle is shameful.

And I say this as a Veteran as is my wife...and she agrees with me!!!

(17,064 posts)The teabaggers piggy-backed on, and were incited to vadalism and violence by Cruz, Palin, et al. Its tough to say how many veteran's were involved, if any. The veteran's group fb page has denounced the actions, and condemned the person's who hijacked the rally for political purposes. By appearances, this was agent provocateurs.

And the mouth breathers with the Confederate flag need their ass beaten down too.
I have no respect for these people. NONE. Why the fuck aren't they getting the beat down like the Occupy movement? Weren't some Congress people arrested last week? Why the isn't Cruz and Palin being arrested?
Oh and of course someone posted a internet meme blaming Obama.
Frankly I think it's worst that 100,000 cattle died in a freak blizzard this week, and if any purse strings needed to be loosened it should have been for that. The poor animals.

(38,187 posts)She is appalled by all of this too. That's why I asked the question. I think it is probably like someone noted below, agent provocateurs.

(38,187 posts)when referring to that bunch that pushed through the barricades, because I know of no actual, real veteran who would dream of doing such a thing. Actual veterans respect the country too much to do such things. I also agree with you too, but I don't know how many of those in these "protests" are really veterans. The MSM has a tendency to paint everyone around any kind of memorial as a veteran. You know how MSM is, generalizing and painting everything and everyone they see through their own messed up limited knowledge. I'm thinking the agent provocateur theory is probably correct.

(18,998 posts)Well I kind of know the answer...because we have no liberal organizations that will organize such things...and when it comes from the Grass Roots they turn their heads and let the cops beat them up, and the "liberal media" call them dirty hippies.
It seems to me the deck is stacked, and our liberal organizations are more interested in raising money for single issues than anything else.

"After Reagan's inauguration as President, Hagel was named deputy administrator of the Veterans Administration. In 1982, however, he resigned his post over a disagreement with VA Administrator Robert P. Nimmo, who was intent on cutting funding for VA programs. Nimmo had referred to veterans groups as "greedy", and to Agent Orange as not much worse than a "little teenage acne."
Repubs have only one god... money. "Fuck the veterans" is their real battle cry.
