Democrats retain control of NJ Legislature

Source: Philadelphia Inquirer

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Democrats retained control of both houses of the New Jersey Legislature in Tuesday's election.

With a handful of races too close to call, Republicans stood to make small gains.

But the minority party could not gain control of either the Senate or Assembly, despite Republican Chris Christie's 20-plus point win over Democrat Barbara Buono.

Voters re-elected Democrats to 22 seats in the Senate and returned 16 Republicans. Two seats remain undecided.

They also overturned his veto of a minimum wage hike.

More proof that Christie is a personality and nothing more.

That is their red meat. The Kochs and Palin, etc., encourage this stuff.

"He will never be President" - we would be wise to not discount him.

America can love a bully.

8. South Jersey Dems - Selling Their Principals To Get Christie to transfer Rutgers Camden to Rowan
Wed Nov 6, 2013, 09:16 AM
Nov 2013

The Dem power brokers in South Jersey (who will remain nameless) want Rutgers Camden to be made part of Rowan University as part of their own personal SoJo legacy.

As such, certain heads of the Democratic legislature are working WITH Christie on many of his Teavangical initiatives so that Christie will transfer Rutgers Camden over to Rowan University.

Many Rutgers alumni, including my brother and sisters, will NEVER donate to Rutgers if this happens.

===

This is being forced down RU's throat. It is a slap in the face that Christie has a balls to wear Rutgers clothing!

Not many like Rowan (formerly Glassboro State) college as it had a really poor reputation in SoJo. A Rutgers Camden degree get downgraded if it becomes a Rowan degree. The kicker is... they are also planning a tuition rate increases as part of this switch... screwing the kids in South Jersey! They are taking away a good school and replacing it with a more expensive mediocre one.

The Dems in NJ are not much better than the Reps... that's one reason why Buono didn't get much support. The Dems WANT Christie to give away Rutgers Camden and all of the newly acquired assets it allocated and upgraded.

I grew up in Philly and had family all over NJ. Even as a kid I recall my parent and grandparents talking about it. Now, my mother and my sister (in 40s), still talk about it. Which Dem/GOP member is getting paid for votes on various topics.

14. Alas, it wasn't JUST the Dems of South Jersey

Here in Hudson County, just across the river from NYC, my State Senator was one of the Democrats who backed Christie.

Traitors like that were all over the state, although I have the subjective impression that South Jersey may have been, proportionally, even worse than the statewide average.
