Poll: Majority Optimistic That Obamacare Problems Will Be Fixed

A majority of Americans believes it's too soon to label the Affordable Care Act a failure and that the problems that have plagued the law's rollout will eventually be fixed, according to a poll released Wednesday.

The latest CNN/ORC International poll poll showed that 53 percent of Americans think it's too early to characterize the health care law as a failure, while 54 percent expressed optimism that the problems currently plaguing Obamacare be resolved.

Almost four in 10 called the law a failure and 45 percent said its flaws will never be fixed.

The survey also showed a majority of Americans (58 percent) are opposed to the Affordable Care Act — a continuation of a recent trend —but the pollsters provided context for the source of the opposition.

Forty-one percent said they oppose the law because it's too liberal, while 14 percent said it isn't liberal enough. As CNN noted, this means that 54 percent either support the Affordable Care Act or believe it isn't liberal enough.

1. Time Will Heal

Of course the ACA will be fixed but the fallout will be a negative for generations for Dems. This president had all the time of his first administration since passage of the ACA, and this year, to make the thing work. Hardly worth his time to be bothered with such details. Now, can you believe, the Repugs are winning in the polls as a result. Can you believe such incompetence.

2. That's some serious nonsense.

A few rather minor web site glitches will VANISH as millions who never had insurance obtain it.

The media is already becoming bored with their latest made up disaster.

Thanksgiving will come, and go, and the media will be looking for something new to complain about, as story after story of the uninsured becoming insured start to emerge.

Then, starting around mid to late January, we'll start to hear of people who now have insurance getting treatments that they would have never been able to afford prior.

And with that, the media will quickly DROP almost all further discussion of the ACA. The GOP will be threatening new government shutdowns. Its dumb, but they can't help it.

And by the elections next year, the GOP will be trying to explain their plan to kick millions off Medicaid.

"I believe that if the President's health care plan had rolled out better than it did, Republicans would have been in danger of losing in '14 because of the overreach they engaged in over the last several months".

3. Really?

With all of the forces (and finances) fighting against him, I'd say this President has performed something of a miracle just getting the ACA passed into law and protecting it until it is within a month of full implementation. You don't give our President near the credit he deserves. After all, the ACA's rocky start-up has hardly been the only pressing, national crisis he has had to deal with in the last few years. Republicans and wealthy Conservatives, on the other hand, have done nothing but hound his every move, with no regard for the nation's welfare whatsoever.

4. Credit Abounds

I certainly give our president all the credit possible for reviving the economy and his many good intentions. Still would vote for him over all those GOPers. But, he let us and himself down on the ACA. The launching of the ACA should have been undertaken with the precision of a NASA mission. The president had every government agency, IT person, computer specialist at his disposal to work to ensure a successful offering of ACA. He knew the Repugs would look for any means to discredit him. Instead, they did not even test the system or listen to the Canadian company when told the program was not ready. I am angry as he flies around in Air Force One rather than staying home and keeping his eye on the ball. He could at least have top drawer advisers but he prefers his Chicago playmates and donors in top positions.

5. Maybe . . .

Maybe it all could have been done more carefully, but as they say: "Hindsight is always 20/20."

It should also be noted that President Obama might have been a little more concerned with trying to turn back repeated Republican attempts to trash the national economy and send our country into a full default on its debts, not to mention that looming region-wide Middle East war (which he only barely avoided).

8. I'm Progressive

I applaud your loyalty as the president needs solid support. However, the president has all the assets he needs once a bill is passed into law. He can usurp the entire government to carry out a mission.. Did he really care if Sibilious was fully in charge of administering the ACA? I was perturbed with his intensity on the ACA, a watered down version of the health care law we need. As to the Republicans, he did not understand that compromise to them was actually defeat.
