A Texas college student was fatally shot following an incident with a University of the Incarnate Word police officer a few blocks from campus, the Alamo Heights Police Department said.

Robert Cameron Redus, 23, was pulled over for allegedly speeding and driving erratically early Friday, KTRK reported.

During the traffic stop near the university’s San Antonio campus, Redus and the officer, who has been identified as Cpl. Chris Carter, got into some kind of tussle, Alamo Heights police Lt. Cindy Pruitt said.

The officer radioed for help, and multiple shots were fired. Redus was pronounced dead on the scene.

Deep condolences to his family & friends.

6. San Antonio Express-News: UIW police officer involved in fatal shooting

SAN ANTONIO — Just before University of the Incarnate Word senior Robert Cameron Redus was fatally shot in a struggle with a UIW police officer Friday morning, a neighbor overheard what may have been his last words.

“I heard (a man) say, 'Oh, you're gonna shoot me?' like sarcastic almost,” said Mohammad Haidarasl, 22, who was on his couch in his ground-floor unit at the Treehouse Apartments in Alamo Heights at about 2 a.m.

Less than a minute later, Haidarasl heard four to six gunshots.

“I jumped up and hid in my closet,” he said.

8. From the article:

[font color ="blue"]He launched into his story again, explaining that he heard the officer say more than once, “Stop resisting, stop resisting.”

He thought he heard a struggle, he said.

“Then the cop said, 'I'm going to shoot,'” Haidarasl said.

And that, Haidarasl added, was what garnered the off-handed, sarcastic comment from their neighbor.

I have noticed that in every video we see in which the cops are roughing up a person who is not resisting at all, the cops keep chanting, "Stop resisting. Stop resisting," as a way of justifying the way they are abusing the person, just in case there are any witnesses or in case someone is videotaping the incident.

Just like the cops in your town and mine have been replaced by the Municipal Armed Forces. In your county, the sheriffs have been replaced by the County Armed Forces. Ah the good ol' days.
