Bush impersonator dies at 48 (Steve Bridges)

Source: CNN

Steve Bridges, an actor best known for impersonating then-President George W. Bush at the 2006 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, died last week at the age of 48, his manager said Sunday.

Bridges' portrayal of Bush was replayed around the world following the 2006 event, which was most notable because the real president was standing right next to Bridges on stage.

According to Bridges' website, the actor also appeared as former President Bill Clinton and current President Barack Obama.

A statement from Bridges' manager said the actor returned from performing in Hong Kong and complained of feeling "super jetlagged."

I remember him only too well, was brought in to the Correspondents' Dinner the year after Stephen Colbert made political history. Too bad, he was pretty good.

Why the news title says something like "George W. Bush Impersonator Steve Bridges Dead", not "Obama Impersonator Dead", or "Clinton Impersonator Dead", or even "Arnold Schwarzenegger Impersonator Dead"? He played them all. Steve, unlike most of the politicians, what you have given to the people of this world is laugh and happiness. For that reason, I respect you.
