Extradition request lodged for Kim Dotcom

Source: Australian Associated Press

The United States government has formally lodged a request to extradite alleged copyright pirate Kim Dotcom from New Zealand, a lawyer representing the US says.

The German-born founder of the Megaupload file-sharing site was arrested in Auckland on January 20.

He and three co-accused, Mathias Ortmann, Bram van der Kolk and Finn Batato are on bail ahead of a three-week extradition hearing planned for August.

They have been indicted in a US court on charges of internet piracy, copyright infringement and wire fraud.

...responsible for the economic meltdown, destroying the livelihoods of millions, and leading us to war on false pretenses with Iraq, killing millions, all either in prison or executed for treason. Glad they finally found something to do with all their spare time now that all the important problems and crimes are solved...

The "person" they should be charging it Megaupload Dotcom. Mega commited the crime, not Kim. Unless they are going to start charging the CEO's of AIG, BofA, Citi, and the rest of thouse Pirates, then Kim should be a no brainer. I hope New Zealand tells US to extradite the right "person" named Mega.
