Quake tremors felt in Indian capital

Earthquake tremors rumbled in New Delhi and around the Indian capital Monday. There were no immediate reports of damages or injury in the city of 16.7 million.

Indian meteorological officials, who monitor earthquakes, could not immediately be reached.

People ran into the streets after feeling the tremors.

The city sits near two faults.

I have a feeling its one of those places where a lot of stuff could fall, but nobody wants to see that happen. I hope Indians in the effected regions have a quick plan for evacuation.

You can build all kinds of circuits with childish simplicity: Those that see light, detect motion, etc. In addition, animals know about an earthquake before it happens, due to subtle vibrations. My TED question: Were a cheap device to be built, like with "little bits" that could hear those subtle vibrations and warn people to get out of those dangerous third world structures before it hits, how many lives could be saved?
