Poll: Obama, Clinton Most Admired Man And Woman

A new Gallup Poll found President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ranked as the man and woman Americans most admire.
The survey released Monday showed 16 percent of Americans mentioned Obama as their most admired man for a sixth consecutive year, although that figure is down from 30 percent who named him in 2012. As the poll points out, the dip reflects the President's declining approval ratings.
Obama led the second most admired man, former President George W. Bush, by 12 points. Pope Francis got 4 percent of the vote, while former President Bill Clinton and Rev. Billy Graham rounded out the top five with 2 percent each.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ranked as the most admired woman with a 15 percent share of the vote, leading other luminaries like Oprah Winfrey, First Lady Michelle Obama, Sarah Palin and Malala Yousafzai. Clinton has topped Gallup's list 18 times, but her share of the vote also dipped from last year, when 21 percent mentioned her as their most admired woman. The poll surveyed 1,031 adults nationwide from Dec. 5-8 and has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.

(85,373 posts)15% is nothing whatsoever. Show me at least 40%, and then we can talk.

(25,592 posts)The new Pope and Edward Snowden should have been at the top two places, for their work helping humanity. Everyone on that list leans Right. Every single one, with the possible exception of just maybe, the Pope.
And to top it off, are there no women worthy? Yeah, yeah, I know, "Most Admired Man", but how about "Most Admired Person", instead? How is this poll not sexist?
But what do you expect from a Gallup Poll? They are known to be biased towards the Right.
I expect the "Most Admired Woman, 2013" poll, would also be slanted to the Right.

(20,450 posts)I thought the Corporate Media has been telling us how much Americans hate President Obama, that he's a liar, and that we no longer trust him now that he lied about "keeping your insurance if you like it," and that "he's just like Bush," and "Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi," and...and...and...

(14,626 posts)I recently pointed out similar justification for an article I posted not so long ago. My article was trashed from the Breaking News section without the courtesy of an explanation when I objected. A number of the mods in this forum unevenly apply/understand the rules of the forum imo.
(For the record I think you are correct.)

From your own excerpt:
"No analysis or opinion pieces"
WTF is a POLL if not a collection of opinions?

(60,536 posts)any and all polls, e.g., Presidential election polls, should be prohibited from LBN. I think a poll of the American people is not the "opinion piece" you would like it to be but, for me, this is that type of opinion:

(8,445 posts)They furiously deny it was Bill Clinton.
On the whole, I think too many people watch too much TV and stay home on voting days.
It reminds me of how unrepresentative DU can be. Here, you have to have some grounding in facts to get along and the Clinton-worship here appears to be much lower than at its height in the mid-2000s.
