Tea Party Group Mobilizes To Oust House Speaker John Boehner

Source: CBS News-7 minutes ago

In a fiery press release on Friday, the Tea Party Leadership Fund announced an ambitious plan to oust Boehner from Congress, accusing the speaker of “stabbing conservatives in the back.”

“John Boehner has declared war on conservatives demanding lower taxes and limited government," said Rusty Humphries, a talk radio host and spokesman for the Tea Party Leadership Fund's Primary Boehner campaign. “Today we declare war on him. We intend to send a message to his fellow 'Republicans In Name Only' that such ideologically bankrupt leadership must come to an end."

The group, which bills itself as the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, announced a $25,000 ad buy targeting Boehner’s record and vowed to recruit a conservative primary challenger to take the fight directly to the speaker. The group also announced a petition drive to collect 1 million signatures in support of its effort.

The statement aired litany of complaints about Boehner, including his decision to “continue the funding of Obamacare” and his “further bankrupting America by raising the debt ceiling without any meaningful concessions.” Also among Boehner’s list of sins: “Agreeing go to pass Amnesty [sic] for those illegal immigrants who have broken our laws” and “Kicking courageous Tea Party congressman [sic] off of important, key House committees to remove conservative objections to his liberal policies.”

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/11/15/tea-party-leadership-fund-scam/

November 15, 2013

The Tea Party assault on the Republican Party is in full swing… or is it? Earlier this month, the Tea Party Leadership Fund ran an ad attacking the GOP, calling them ‘traitors.’ Following this, they put up this webpage, which is pictured below.

But, in study of the group and its activities, one finds that while they have raised millions, they spent only $52,000 on candidates in the last election cycle, and only $154,172 in total for political activity. Yet, almost all of the money they have raised, has been spent.

Where has the Tea Party Leadership Fund spent all of its money?

Going over the groups federal filings, the group spends most of its money on other organizations, such as DB Capitol Strategies, PLLC, run by Dan Backer. Dan Backer, it turns out, is the Treasurer of the Tea Party Leadership Fund. Over, and over again, the fund is issuing payments to organizations run by the members who run it. In other words, the whole fund is a money making scam put together by con artists exploiting the dim witted.

(I keep posting about Dan Backer because he's behind just so much crap. He created the phony IRS scandal almost single-handedly. He's the guy who brought the McCutcheon case that may allow the Supreme Court to overturn campaign donation limits. Bad news all round.)

At least, against Cantor and McConnell, they have candidates who are somewhat credible, but here, they do not even have somebody credible to primary him.

The more they go at one another the more independents will recognize they cannot possibly entrust the nation to these fools. So much better for Democratic prospects.

The Democrats will not take back the House in 2014 absent some miracle such as revelations the Tea Party Caucus are filmed worshipping Satan.

But it does mean the pukes will be on the defense rather than the offense.

He's (rightly) derided by Democrats and the left, but on the right he's got to herd crazies to do anything. And no matter what he does he's going to piss off half of his right flank. I have no idea what his motivation is to stay in Congress. No amount of money or clout is worth the amount of bullshit he has to put up with.

Again, I dislike the guy and disapprove of every one of his policy stances. But he's to pathetic now I've gone beyond loathing and just pity the guy.

I hope, in the OED, they print a picture of him next to the definition for "Sad Sack"
