A mother upset about 'indecent' T-shirts on display at a Utah mall found a quick if not especially convenient way to remove them: She bought every last one.
Judy Cox and her 18-year-old son were shopping on Saturday at the University Mall in Orem, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City, when she saw the shirts in the window of a PacSun store.
The shirts featured pictures of scantily dressed models in provocative poses.

Ridiculous. All she's accomplished is lots of free advertising for PacSun which I never heard of before.

(1,333 posts)after 60 for a refund. She can effectively stop them from selling those shirts if she wants to

(7,051 posts)Particularly from a national franchise. She'll get store credit and still have spent nearly $600, in "protest." The shirts will be still be available for purchase ... and now, she's called attention to the product.
Mental giant, she is.

(2,975 posts)She's stated her intent to return them before the return period is up, to make the company eat the cost, but I'm thinking they may take this as 'abuse of the returns system', and make her keep em.

That would let them have a full new stock AND the returned t-shirts for sale, so if she wanted to keep protesting she'd have to buy all of them again......return them before time is up whereupon they likely have ordered new stock....etc etc

religious bigotry from a new poster.
This is not allowed even if we don't agree with that church.
JURY RESULTS
A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Wed Feb 19, 2014, 09:04 PM, and voted 5-1 to HIDE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Name calling. Hide.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Alerter is right. There's no place for religious bigotry on DU.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This is a common satirical spelling among ex-Mormons. The writer is probably an ex-Mo. This is the second time I've served on a jury about this same thing in the last few days, BTW. I am usually sympathetic to alerters, but there are much more serious problems on DU that are not being dealt with.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This atheist agrees with the alerter.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Mor(m)on ... not really cute or funny. One can have a lot of issues with the Mormon church (I do), but this is very disrespectful to our Mormon members
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Bigoted post having no redeeming value.
