Former Gov. Edwin Edwards has not yet decided whether he will make a run for Louisiana's 6th District seat, contrary to a report in Bloomberg on Wednesday (Feb. 19) confirming the 86-year-old's run for Congress.
"I was there when he was on that call and he did not say that (he had decided to run)," said Edwards' wife Trina, 35. "He only said he was considering running...He had definitely said he had not decided."
The Bloomberg report quoted Edwards as saying, "I'm just figuring out all the legalities and how to set up a super PAC, and then I'm going." He added: "I'm the only hope the Democrats have here."
Later Wednesday afternoon, The Louisiana Radio Network also reported he had confirmed his bid. But Trina fired back again, saying, "he is on the cusp (of deciding), but he's definitely not made up his mind."
