WATCH: Chris Christie to host first town hall meeting of second term
Source: NY Daily News
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will headline the first town hall meeting of his second term on Thursday.
With the Bridgegate scandal looming, the Republican governor is taking his case straight to the people of New Jersey.
Christie will speak on his plans for dispersing $1.4 billion in Sandy reconstruction aid, even as he denies charges from Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer that his administration threatened to withhold Sandy funding if she didn't comply with a Christie-supported real estate deal.
Given the increased scrutiny, Christie confidantes expect Thursdays event will be toned down with little fanfare.

I can't wait for the first Bridge question - he'll probably say "that's under investigation, it's not proper to address that now".

(17,469 posts)Now there's an underused word with graphic imagery not used often enough in today's politics.
And so apropos for today's GOP "town" hall events.

(106 posts)MSNBC reporting that Christie said he would not answer bridgegate questions.
George II
(67,782 posts)...but there were questions about divorce law, landscaping jug-handles, etc. NO questions about the bridge.
There was one woman with a white sign about 2X1.5 feet, saying "Resign Christie" - a state cop kept going over to her and whispering in her ear, she did a great job of not even acknowledging him there, just looked forward with her sign.
That was the most controversy throughout the entire "town hall meeting".
