Prosecutors file new appeal to keep 'John Doe' investigation alive (WI)

Source: The Journal Times

Citing the permanent harm that would be done if they destroyed evidence, prosecutors on Wednesday appealed a federal judge's preliminary order to halt their investigation into coordination between candidates and conservative groups during the spate of recalls in Wisconsin in 2011 and 2012.

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Rudolph Randa stopped the probe, saying the activity under investigation was not illegal and is protected by the First Amendment.

Randa also revealed that the targets of the probe included the campaign of Gov. Scott Walker and a multitude of "right of center" political groups and individuals who engaged in so-called issue advocacy during the recall campaigns...

..."The order was issued without jurisdiction," the prosecutors allege, "and is void for that reason."

I said years ago that the Vichy Dem wing's failure to filibuster Alito and Roberts would be the final nail in American's coffin.

Even if we have massive majorities in the house and senate for the next 25 years, the SCOTUS will still thwart reform and deliver the country into the hands of the 0.01%

Not "dispose of" or "release", but be permanently destroyed.

A blatant attempt to bury something very deep. Ergo...there is good evidence and it puts Walker and Koch drones in prison. Might even cripple the Rethuglicans in Wisconsin forever.

8. Love lawyers. An attorney cited jurisdiction in a case we worked. Judge freaked out in terror.

Couldn't have got the judge to touch it with a ten-foot pole after that and left the courtroom in a huge rush. So it went higher and was handled there.

Expect the Koch Crony Court there to be more afraid of Koch, than any other court, though. Keep at them, Badgers. Run the crooks out of town.

Judge Rudolph Randa should be slapped with an Obstruction of Justice charge for his order to stop the investigation!!

He has issued some suspect/biased rulings in the past!

Judge Compares Drug Dealer's Love For Family To Hitler's Love For His Dog

CHICAGO — An appeals court has admonished a federal judge in Wisconsin for claiming a convicted drug dealer's love for his family is akin to Adolf Hitler's love for his dog.

The U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago on Monday ordered that the defendant, Jose Figueroa, be re-sentenced.

The court said comments during sentencing from Judge Rudolph Randa of eastern Wisconsin were odd.

So You see The U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago is already familiar with Rudolph Randa!

Wisconsin campaign finance probe can continue: appeals court

BY BRENDAN O'BRIEN
MILWAUKEE Wed May 7, 2014 10:22pm EDT

(Reuters) - Wisconsin investigators can continue a secret probe into possible campaign finance law violations by conservative groups in the state, a U.S. appeals court ruled on Wednesday.

The order stopped for now enforcement of a federal judge's ruling that the 20-month investigation must be halted and records and property seized by investigators returned to the Wisconsin Club for Growth, the group that sued investigators.

U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Randa in Milwaukee on Tuesday had said the club and its director were relieved of any and all duty to cooperate with the secret investigation.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago said in its order on Wednesday that Randa should not have entered a preliminary injunction halting the "John Doe" probe because he knew investigators were planning to appeal.
