Perry: Guard protecting US, not playing politics

Source: ASSOCIATED PRESS

BASTROP, Texas (AP) — Gov. Rick Perry has visited some of the 1,000 National Guard troops he’s ordered to the Texas-Mexico border but says he does not know how long they’ll be deployed.

Perry on Wednesday stopped at Camp Swift Army National Guard training center in Bastrop, 30 miles east of Austin. He spoke at a hangar and addressed several hundred troops, but not all will be dispatched to South Texas.

Perry says he believes the military presence will help stop drug gang crimes in Texas and across America. The Republican governor, who’s eyeing a possible 2016 presidential run, rejected the idea that the deployment was politically motivated.

Perry has called the influx of unaccompanied children pouring illegally onto U.S. soil a side issue in his decision to send in the Guard.

I'd be screaming "Allah ackbar!" too if I were desperately trying to cross the border into a hopefully better life than the hell I left behind.

Perry, you're a fucking tool.

My thoughts exactly. Unarmed children fleeing abuse is what the military is now being used for? Give me a fuckin' break.

he's too stupid to realize just how fucking transparent this appears.

and to comment on how long this will last? it will last long enough to reflect a rise in his polling. which means it will probably last forever or until he finally leaves office.

oh cement head, you're not fooling anyone.

To be placed with either relatives or in a guardian situation.

None of them, male or female, look or act like terrorists. They don't speak a single word of English and seem mostly scared to death. Age range about 10ish to maybe 15ish.

Any of the HaterBaggers that rant about these poor kids, make me sick.
