Punter Chris Kluwe, Vikings reach agreement to prevent lawsuit
Source: Minneapolis Star-Tribune
The Minnesota Vikings and their former punter Chris Kluwe said Friday they reached an out-of-court settlement that will prevent him from suing the team.
Kluwe threatened to sue for more than $10 million because the team wouldnt release the full investigation into his claims about what he said was a culture of discrimination.
In an e-mail to the Star Tribune, Clayton Halunen, Kluwes attorney, said a statement about the settlement would be issued Monday with a tentative news conference on Tuesday. He declined further comment.
The settlement comes after two days of mediation. Details of the settlement are unknown, but Kluwe has alleged the Vikings should have released the entire 150-page report about the investigation and that the much shorter summary didnt contain substantial evidence.
